We consider this place as our family kitchen. We love our family gatherings here (either birthdays/anniversary or special family events. Carol our service became our regular server everytime we go and she always takes care of us. Food tastes really good and the quality is first class. Highly recommended for family events and gathering.

Average canto food, even though it’s one of the oldest restaurants in chinatown. Flavors were not on point for every dish we ordered. Beef noodle had no wok hei

Came here for the 1st time on my birthday on the recs of a friend who’s been here multiple times. It’s a very unassuming hole in the wall Cantonese restaurant but when you walk in and see that majority of the clientele are Indochinese- you already know the food will be both authentic and good!
We had the Sautéed lobster in XO sauce (and apparently the lobster is one of their most popular dishes with very good reason!)- it was very delicious and we saw every other table order different variations of it.
The Deep fried crispy shrimp balls (huge balls that are very crispy on the outside and shrimp packed on the inside- another hit!).
The Beef ribs in spicy sauce were good as soon as we had it hot, but once cooled it became a little hard and difficult to chew (and there wasn’t anything spicy or saucy about them- so it was a bit meh for me).
The Salted fish and shrimp fried rice was pretty good albeit a bit bland unless you bit into the actual salted fish (nothing some chili oil couldn’t fix)! Portion size was great though I did feel the protein quantity was skimpy!
All in all I my friend and I throughly enjoyed our lunch!
As for the service- yeah…nope! With the exception of one person who atleast made eye contact and smiled- the others would barely stay at your table to take your order. One server asked us ‘are you ready’ and when we hesitated coz we had a question, she didn’t even wait to hear us! She made an about turn and left for the next table! I don’t think the servers are rude- I believe they are just busy. But customer service goes a long way in even small things like just being present, or a smile, or saying be right back.
Anyways- food is an absolute win! Will definitely be back coz I wanna try more of their dishes and not to mention the food comes out pretty fast as well.
Don’t go expecting great service- but the quality of the food outweighs service.
And yeah! If you pay in cash you actually get a discount!

Just discovered a spot for seafood with bold flavors, reasonable prices, generous portions, and very fresh ingredients. The black pepper lobster, deep-fried crispy shrimp balls, crispy smelt fishes with spicy salt, and steamed jade tofu with king mushrooms were all delicious. The crab meat soup with asparagus was a bit watery and bland. The restaurant has simple but cozy decor and fast service.

We ordered lobster fried in black pepper. It was okay. Will get a different sauce next time. $28 for small lobsters. People say it’s cheap but not much meat even when they have two lobsters. The duck as bland and cost almost $50. Fried Rice and Calamari were good. The best dish was the morning glory vegetable which was very flavorful. Portions were big.

There are many seafood restaurants in Houston, Confucius Seafood Restaurant is one that I like the most. Their lobster and crab dishes are absolutely top-notch—fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The steamed ginger scallions chicken and is also one of my favorite.

The flavors are authentic, the portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable, especially for the quality of food you get. It’s a great spot for family gatherings or special occasions, but keep in mind that it can get quite crowded on weekends, so plan accordingly.

Fried shrimp balls were very juicy and huge! It tasted a bit like fried chicken breading in a good way, crunchy exterior and the inside was full of flavorful shrimp meat. Fried lobster and stir-fried fish dish with garlic chives were good, too. I believe they had some kind of a deal/discount when you get a lobster dish and order 2 main courses, but might want to ask the server directly. Will come back!
