Hands Down the best pizza I’ve ever had. My entire family enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and friendly staff. The retro style arcade games were a plus. A+ restaurant experience

Pizza was delicious. Place was falling apart. Mind you it was post snow/ice days so it exposed the leaky ceiling. Arcade games only take coins or cash. Also maybe have a jukebox or music playing in the background? I saw a very large TV so maybe playing a movie ♀️. I feel like this place could have so much potential and i probably just caught them on a bad day. Such a cool place otherwise for us nerds lol.

Conan’s Pizza is a true Austin gem—a perfect mix of “Keep Austin Weird” and delicious deep-dish pizza. The moment you step inside, it feels like you’ve traveled back to 1985, with fantasy artwork straight out of an Arnold Schwarzenegger-era Conan movie. The retro vibes, dim lighting, and quirky décor make for a one-of-a-kind atmosphere you won’t find anywhere else.
But let’s talk about the pizza—thick, cheesy, and packed with flavor. The deep-dish is a must-try, with a buttery crust that holds up to the generous toppings. The Savage is a personal favorite! Service is friendly and laid-back, just like the Austin spirit. If you’re looking for an old-school, local spot with character (and great pizza), Conan’s is it.
A must-visit for anyone who loves Austin’s weird side and a great slice!

Conan’s make the best whole wheat deep dish savage pizza. I dont like cheese so I get it without cheese. It is SO DELICIOUS!!! I wish they flew food to my location. I am now out of the state but everytime I come home, I go to Conan’s South!!

The owner gets his haircut by my wife. I had my 40th birthday party here and had a great time. I got the barbecue pizza. It was fantastic. Everyone got a bunch of other stuff and it was all good. My kids had a great time playing pinball and running around the place. Beer was cheap. Place has a super 80s retro vibe to it. It’s really cozy inside. It’s a great place. I’ll definitely be back.

My friend was visiting, and we really wanted to ty this place…until we got to checkout. One LG deep dish pizza came out to $47.39 before tax, delivery, and tip. That’s not a typo.
I’m sure the pizza is good, but at that price point, it needs to either change my life or come with a side of financial counseling. Pricing is enough to shut down the “want to try”. Sadly, I’ll never know if it tastes good as I am not in the top 1%

Was looking for pizza places in South Austin that also do vegan. Saw this place and was highly recommended on Google. Went on a Sunday evening and the menu is clearly labeled what is meat and what is veggies but love they have gluten free, wheat, and vegan cheese for anyone who can’t eat meat or who’s diet won’t let them.
The place looks very much stuck in the 80s which is awesome, it didn’t seem very busy but we did wait awhile before getting part of our order. Besides the slower service, the food was actually good. Very greasy (if that’s your thing) but good. I definitely want to try their deep dish next but for the thin crust, i did enjoy it. I had the spicy Hawaiian calzón and it was very cheesy but gloriously good for what I wanted.
I do recommend this place for vegans and vegetarians as they have options for both especially with the vegan cheese option. I will note some of the veggie toppings felt like they were canned or pickled so not sure if 100% fresh.

Nice folks, nice place… on the food aspect, I wish to provide a disclaimer. I first went to Conan’s many years ago (almost 20) and hated it… I could not remember why, so I went back because of the 4.5 star rating on Google. I spent $96 on 3 large thin crust pizzas and a cheese bread. One veggie, one cheese, one pepperoni. Every slice on all 3 pizzas were cut but unable to separate from one another… when I did get a slice free, I was optimistic, good cheese can be very cheesy and it was still hot… which is probably why all of the cheese and toppings slid right off as I picked it up. But I persisted and put it back only to realize the dough was very doughy… which is odd since the pizza was very thin. I figured it did not get cooked enough. To be fair, the pizza toppings seem like they are good… but the large pizza is not very big, it cost $25+ per pizza… the cheese bread tasted like cheese crackers (different dough?). If you are going… go for the service, the ambience, and for the love of all that is good and decent order the original deep pan pizza that they are apparently known for… I should have asked.

Love the vibe, but this was easily one of the worst restaurant pizzas I’ve ever had. I doubt the crust was ever frozen, I am sure they make it fresh. But the taste and texture are strange. Marinara too sweet and too much of it. Other ingredients were fine I’m sure, but I didn’t have the privilege of noticing.
