Super nice little cafe! Hugeeee breakfast burritos and nice staff. The burritos lacked a bit of flavor but were huge for the price. Lots of breakfast and coffee options. A small latte w flavor and almond/oat milk was about $7.

Atmosphere, atmosphere, and atmosphere. This Cafe gets a thumbs up for service, friendliness and prices. There was an amazing chessboard waiting for a lazy Sunday game. Multiple languages being spoken while families played card trivia enjoying their meal.

Really great spot to stop in for breakfast or brunch. Staff were super friendly, courteous, and pleasant. Breakfast burrito was amazing! One of the best I’ve had in years and it’s HUGE. Good drip coffee. Friendly patrons. Seating inside and outside. Overall a great spot and happy I stopped in while coming through town.

Friendly staff, cute interior and delicious coffee/food. I got a honey bee (the perfect amount of sweetness) and one of the biggest, tastiest brownies I’ve ever had. All the baked goods looked great, and they do have real food as well, including grab and go hot burritos. GF and vegetarian options as well as alternative milks available. Despite coming right before closing, staff didn’t rush me and answered my menu questions. There’s indoor and outdoor seating and a few parking spots right out front.

Ohhhhh this is the best food ever.! Went one day and just had to go back next day for more. I’m in love with fluffy omelette and my husband is in love with biscuits and gravy. The atmosphere and staff are so sweet. We love, admire and adore you Compass Rose Cafe! Thank you for feeding us such scrumptious food!

Fantastic, family owned cafe with a yummy menu and cozy atmosphere! I’ve been in several times and ordered doordash a bunch and have been so happy every time. Gotta recommend the b&g, the plain Jane and their pastry selection. They also make a perfect London Fog Latte :))

Since Google seems unable to allow a response to an owner’s response of your review, I’ve had to edit this one. Extremely poor leadership on their part (please see owner’s response). You don’t lambast the customer (or try to embarrass them) when you’re in the wrong. We definitely did arrive during a busy time of the day. However, 25 minutes for our coffee is insane, especially, when that’s your primary business. Let’s not even bring up the fact we ordered two drip coffees! I mean, I could almost understand if we ordered something special, but drip coffees!?!? How about the additional 15-25 minutes we had to wait, on top of that time, for our food to arrive!?!? Very convenient the owner doesn’t bother to mention that… I will say, the food was amazing and some of the best I’ve had on the coast and, again, the staff was kind and friendly. It really is too bad you want to call out a customer that is venting their frustrations with your inability to deal with a rush. Bad look on your part. As mentioned, there were several other customers who were visibly frustrated with the delays. Your response is a horrible look for a business owner and, honestly, you should be ashamed of yourself. You don’t know me or the person I was with. You only label us as “our type” because of your own inability to do your job efficiently. Also, you never dealt with me. I never asked for anything. My girlfriend was the one who kept coming back up asking for the status of our order. Nice that you assume and try to generalize me “it would be a Chad”. In life, you need to learn from the negatives, not try to justify your mistakes. Instead of telling the customer they are in the wrong and seemingly calling us a-holes (real professional, by the way), you speak with your staff on ways you can improve your processes so these scenarios don’t happen in the future. You can only end up the better for it.

Wonderful local place with a really friendly staff. Had the best breakfast burrito I’ve had in a while–the Atomic Burrito. Delicious and easily two meals (and I’m a pretty big guy). Also loved the marine biology videos playing on the TV. I learned about local sea hares while I ate. 🙂

My partner & I came to Brookings to get away from the smoke in Southern Oregon. We were looking for a coffee shop that has breakfast sandwiches and coffee. We love how great the food and beverages are. We ate the plain breakfast sandwich, turkey melt, ham panini ( not in photo), & homemade broccoli cheddar soup. All we’re amazing. It’s always great when you find great brunch while traveling. This family owned spot brings creativity, quality, care, & newness for many locals & travelers.

Good place for lattes, mocha and avocado toast with inside and outside seating but it was cold even inside with inadequate heating. Was quite crowded and it would have been nice to be informed that the wait would be long as we had to wait almost an hour before being served! They did apologize for the wait but did not offer anything for the extra long wait!
