As a transplant of seven years coming from a big city, I’m always looking for eateries that stand as a community pillar. I arrived a little early to an event and was eager to grab a bite to eat somewhere central to the Zeeland area, but still close to my destination.
The locals that joined me in walking through the door wasted no time being sociable and friendly, something that can be scarce in more conservative areas for me (I’m goth lite.)
Not wanting to take up too much space, I sat myself at the counter seating and ordered the daily special– an apple chicken pecan salad. I was already thrilled by the price, it’s hard to find entrees under $10 these days and the food did not disappoint. Although simple in it’s make and presentation, the quality was solid.
The only other gentleman seated at the counter made sure to say goodbye to me even though we hadn’t exchanged a word. I was really happy about this. Going new places I’m often nervous to be out in public, and can sometimes assume the worst. The staff and patrons were all great, refills were timely.
I can’t recommend Community Restaurant enough, I can absolutely see why it has served Zeeland since 1971.

I came here with a friend to have our obligatory Catholic Friday Fish in this land of only Protestants (the closest Catholic Church is 15 miles away!)
The Pollock dinner was amazing! breaded so not too doughy or crispy, 4pc with choice of 2 sides only 14.95 each!!
I am so glad we made the date. 🙂 our server was attentive and kind, the place looked like brand new and so open and welcoming.

The remodel the restaurant is nice and the food here is still the same great taste. The salad bar hasn’t changed (Still really good and you can stack your plate ).
The inside could use some decor to spruce up the atmosphere but I get it, the place is still early in the reopening.
The food is great and the service was great as well. This is a great place to get dinner. It’s definitely a small town restaurant but that doesn’t mean that’s a bad thing

I went for breakfast- the food was good but a bit on the greasy side. Delicious orange juice. Friendly service. The restaurant itself is very plain, lacking the “warmth” I enjoy In old school mom & pop restaurants. Very reasonable prices.

The food and the service are awsome and the waiters/ waitresses are very kind and friendly. This is a great spot to sit and hangout or to get together with family and friends to eat a meal and chat.

Monthly breakfast with our youngest took us two to Community Restaurant. We both had the special, which was french toast and bacon. The bacon was some of the best I’ve had. Nice and crisp, tasty. It’s still the old Community Restaurant and style and decor but the food is just as good.

We had an all-around good experience here. Service was quick and friendly. It’s easy to talk–not too loud nor eerily quiet. Having a trip to the salad bar is a nice option with meals. It’s nicely stocked with sides like baked beans, potato salad, and beets. Pickled herring would put them over the top with so many Dutchmen around. Sigh.
Lots of standard menu items. Don’t come here for fusion food. Come for safe. A burger on rye toast is about as crazy as it gets.
The name says it all. It’s a nice community gathering place for all ages.

Wandered in by chance. This is the best burger I’ve had an a good long time. Big, flavorful, wonderfully put together and let’s not forget the fries! Amazing. They do great work here!

The last three times we’ve gotten food here it’s not been good. The chicken is really dry, the fries are over done and tonight my bread was burnt so much I couldn’t eat it. We used to love eating here, however will not be going back again.
