Homemade pastries, French cafe fare & espresso drinks are the draw at this stylish, laid-back venue.

This locally owned coffee shop and bistro is an absolute gem. We tried the Texado (a twist on a Spanish Cortado). The espresso shots were pulled perfectly… rich, smooth, and complimented the cold brew.
You can tell the folks at Common care about quality.
The sandwiches are just as impressive. We had the Cubano and the Croque Madame… chef’s kiss!
The staff is warm and welcoming. We felt appreciated the moment we walk in.
I was grateful for the care they took in managing my cinnamon allergy.
If you’re looking for amazing coffee, delicious food, and a spot that feels like part of the community, this is it. Highly recommend… cheers!

This was a great find. Really fun place for breakfast or a light lunch. The food is fresh and delicious – seems to have very simple fresh ingredients and they do not overcrowd the tastes with too many – very appreciated.
The areas were open and clean, and the wait staff is very friendly and always busy either cleaning or bringing food they really looked out for the customer. The areas with the animals are a cool touch and it’s nice to see the chickens enjoying an easy day.
The bathrooms are clean. There are two separate private bathrooms. However, I did not see a baby changing station. So easier to have an outside table with a baby.
The regular black coffee was bitter. Maybe go with an espresso option or a light tea.
Overall, really love the place. It’s such a good fine and such a nice venue for a relaxing, warning and delicious change of pace.

From the moment you walk in, you can feel the love, care, and harmony behind this place. The cleanliness, the quality of the food, and the way everything is prepared truly show that this is a business built with heart.
The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful — very farm-inspired and warm, with a lovely space for chickens that instantly catches the attention of children. You can see how happy and engaged they are, which makes the experience even more special.
The flavors are incredible, the environment is peaceful and joyful, and the energy of the place is something you can truly feel. This has officially become my favorite breakfast spot in the city, and every time I visit, I’ll definitely be back here.
Highly, highly recommended!

The coffee was really good and the food was just as great. I tried the croque madame and absolutely loved it. Their pastries are super French-style and so good. My favorite part was the patio!! they have chickens, so you know the eggs are fresh, and I even got to meet their super cute cat. Such a unique, cozy vibe. I’d definitely come back just for the atmosphere alone.

I’m always looking for cozy or relaxing coffee shops without loud music or crazy foot traffic. This was it. It sort of looks like a house and very inviting. There’s parking in the back too! We sat inside for a few before moving to the backyard to eat. The area was clean with the exception of the tables needing to be wiped off. The atmosphere was fantastic. I never felt so relaxed at a coffee shop. The iced mocha was probably the best I ever had. It wasn’t too bitter or too sweet. It was very balanced. My husband had the Texado and it came with a cute truffle. The avocado toast was delicious and I added an egg. I wasn’t too hungry but it was a perfect portion. My husband had the nutella crepes and they were amazing. Absolute comfort food. There were plenty of kids playing in the yard because it was a beautiful day, so if you’re looking for something kid friendly this might be a good spot. People inside were on their computers and it was reasonably quiet I think. I’m definitely adding this to my go back list.

A home in the past, now its a coffee shop that privides for the locals. This place can seat about 40-45 people roughly indoor, and 40-50 with outdoor seating. The interior is nicely done with the classy vintage ceiling. Coffee was good as well as the croissants. Service was quick, a shout thanks to Michael our server. Prices were comparible to other coffee shops in the area. For those who are lactose intolerant, they offer Oat, Almond, and Coconut milk. Good place for a business meeting.

What a great find tucked into an area of historic homes. I ordered the Petite Breakfast, and it was anything but petite — a generous, satisfying plate of hot, wholesome food. They open early, which is a huge plus.
The fresh-squeezed orange juice costs more, but the quality shows — worth every sip. Friendly, welcoming staff, great atmosphere… and yes, I was even served by a rooster. You don’t forget a place like this.

Really enjoyed Taxedo Coffee. The coffee was great, the breakfast croissant was a perfect 10/10, and the hibiscus tea is always refreshing. Beautiful interior, nice outdoor seating, and even chickens on one side—such a fun, relaxed vibe.

I used to go to the CommonWealth near San Antonio College and loved their food and coffee before they closed. This CommonWealth is a comfortable spot for lunch or coffee. I had the turkey sandwich, which was fresh and well made, and the iced mocha was smooth and nicely balanced. The outdoor seating area is pleasant, and the chicken coop adds a bit of character to the space. There’s parking behind the restaurant, accessible through a one-way street. Service was attentive and friendly. Overall, a solid place to relax and enjoy a good meal.
