Great coffee & really cool atmosphere. However food I’d prolly go elsewhere. Wicked stringy pudding & what was thought to be a treat turned out to be thrown in the circular file and a burn in my wallet I would just stick with the coffee ☕️

Common Grounds on Howe Ave in Shelton is one of those places that immediately makes you feel at home. Datleen, Lorena, Valeria, and Karla are absolutely wonderful, friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Sitting here feels like relaxing in your own living room, which is a rare and special vibe for a coffee spot.
The coffee is consistently excellent, and the pastries are fresh and delicious. While the sandwiches are not the main highlight for me, everything else more than makes up for it. Overall, it is a great local spot with amazing staff, great coffee, and a comfortable atmosphere that keeps me coming back.

Went through the drive thru and was rushed by the girl on intercom, after every item we would say, she’d tell us to pull up, not giving us a chance to finish the order. When we showed up to the window, we realized our drinks were messed up, but after the ordering situation, it wasn’t worth even trying to get it fixed. For two medium drinks and an BEC wrap it was $20+, insane pricing. When eating my wrap, I couldn’t tell if the bacon in my wrap was raw or fatty, well it must’ve been raw because I’ve been insanely sick all day. Stay away from this place unless you’re trying to get sick or robbed by these prices.

This coffee shop is very cute and cozy, I ordered a chicken wrap and a cinnamon apple muffin and they were both delicious! The peppermint mocha latte is also very good and they have different flavors for holidays. My cousin who is a barista said that they use the “fancy syrup.” If I lived closer, I would be here more often!

Such a cute coffee shop with delicious drinks! I tried their chai latte with with pumpkin foam which really impressed me — there was actual pumpkin in the drink which really added to the flavor. PS in the picture attached to this review, that is a size small drink. So keep in mind when ordering coffee especially; the large is LARGE.

I’m leaving a review as I sit in the cafe, but this place is great. I have watched them clean probably five times within 30 mins. The coffee has been good each and every time I’ve gone. For reference, I don’t get those crazy lattes/drinks, but if you’re going for just a regular iced coffee, great and easy choice. Would highly recommend!

I was always a fan of common grounds. I have been to the Hamden location as well as a Shelton location multiple times however after today they have lost a loyal customer. This is totally unsanitary. I always purchased coffee never really biscotti’s just because they leave the biscottis to sit in those jars. Today I thought I would try biscotti. I really wish I just stuck with the coffee as you can see in the photos attached there is a bug surrounded by fluffy mold in my biscotti. I’m really disappointed in the cleanness of how the food is stored and how fresh the food is after today. I always enjoyed the coffe however after this experience I feel like I just went on survivor and will not be back.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I DIDNT GET THE ATTENDANTS NAME BUT MAN WAS SHE HUSTLING TO GET EVERYONES ORDER. MY girlfriend and I stopped by for the first time today I had a caramel latte she has a slow drip coffee was strong fresh and delicious. Corn muffin was toasted and buttered to perfection and this lemon biscotti was delicious frosting was a bit much but the actual cookie itself was down right great I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE
