Celiac Safe! Best Gluten Free Dining restaurant in Sarasota!!! If you are local or on vacation, this is the place to eat. From fried chicken to tacos to steak, it has delicious food that is safe!!! And don’t forget to get dessert… the hardest part is picking which one… we got three and took an order of donut holes home!!! 5 Stars and highly recommend!!!

A breathe of fresh air.
Following an amazing afternoon at the circus, we decided to give a try to one of the recent addition to the Sarasota restaurant scene, intrigued by their gluten free menu.
Well cheers to a new favorite.
The food was nothing less than amazing. Excellent quality of the ingredients ( the tuna was outstanding), and the portions was enough to allow sharing in tapas style.
A mention also for the drinks both the classics and the proof zero ones.
Last but not the least, a real espresso to make this Italian happy.

I took my daughter to Comida for brunch and it was such a great experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is bright, modern, and welcoming — perfect for a weekend treat. My yogurt bowl was super fresh and full of flavor, and my daughter absolutely loved the donuts (she said they were better than Dunkin’, which is saying a lot!).

The service was friendly, everything came out quickly, and the whole vibe just felt happy and relaxed. It was the perfect little mother-daughter date spot. We’ll definitely be back!

My husband and I are Sarasota locals. We are very discerning about where we eat out as we have a high standard for the quality of ingredients- local, whole food, and organic are a priority for us. As such there are just a small handful of restaurants historically that our body feels good after we have a meal. We are delighted to add Comida to our go-to list as we were very impressed at how fresh, flavourful and CLEAN their food is. The whole menu is free from seed oils, processed food, and gluten (read: glyphosate). While the menu offers a lot of choices for carnivores and vegetarians alike, we were so pleased that there were so many plant forward options. We loved the variety of home made sauces and dressings that accompanied our dishes. Every creation was fun, colorful, and delicious. Aside from the quality of the food- the interaction with the staff and manager was a very positive draw to want to come back. They are earnest in connecting with their clients and making a personal connection to round out the experience.

Great experience great food! Had the fried chicken and fresh catch for the day, muy delicioso!!! Espresso martini was not good, but it’s not a place to serve liquor so that makes sense. Great staff Great environment! Highly recommend!!

Recently went for brunch, and it was just as delicious as dinner! We love this place.

I was so excited about my chilaquiles, I forgot to take a before picture. It was so good!! We also got the potatoes to share and they were incredible. Unique and delicious — savory, but with a brightness you don’t usually get with breakfast potatoes.

They have a 100% Gluten Free kitchen! They do have beer, so there is some gluten in the place but it’s localized at the bar and they are very careful if you mention Celiac or an allergy.

Absolutely obsessed with this place! It’s become one of my favorite spots, especially for espresso martinis. Both the alcoholic version and the mocktail are incredible. We even became friends with the bartender, and he surprised us with seasonal espresso martinis that were out of this world. A hint of hazelnut and cinnamon. Truly to die for.

The cilantro honey and lime yogurt is heavenly. It has the perfect balance of sweet and sour, with this bright freshness from the fruit that ties everything together so beautifully.

I also have to talk about their elote. This is honestly the only place I’ve found that actually has elote on the menu, and they do it perfectly.

For my main, I got the ancho & chile beef tips and they were incredible. Perfectly cooked, full of rich, smoky flavor, and so well-seasoned that every bite was better than the last. Pair it with their homemade hot sauce (you have to ask for it) and it becomes insane. The heat, the depth, the savoriness. It just an unforgettable combination.

If you’re thinking about going—go. This place nails it every single time

The food, superb. The service, superb. Quite literally everything, superb.
As someone with celiac I’m so unbelievably happy with this place.
Allan was awesome, the knowledge and know how of everything on the menu was truly something else. I’m so glad I listened to everything he had to say with recommendations. It DID NOT disappoint.

The place has a gorgeous esthetic! The people are so so sweet but… if you are looking for your traditional chilaquiles this may not be the best option. It caters to a public with food sensitivities more than keep the traditional structure and flavors or this plate. This is why I gave the ratings I did.

Comida is an upscale Mexican gem that truly impresses. The menu is thoughtfully curated, with dishes that are as beautifully presented as they are delicious. Highlights for us included the vibrant beet salad and the grass-fed NY strip—honestly one of the best pieces of meat I’ve ever had at a restaurant.

I also appreciate Comida’s commitment to health-conscious dining: the entire menu is gluten-free, free of seed oils, and made with organic ingredients wherever possible.
If I had one critique, it would be the seating.

The dining area is quite small and can feel cramped, especially during peak hours. Sitting so close to other tables takes away from the otherwise elevated experience. That said, I’ll definitely be back—next time, perhaps during a quieter time of day.
