I loved my dish, the tortellini with meatballs, but my partner got sick from the food, which cut our vacation short. He had one of the shrimp pasta dishes. It could have been an honest mistake or maybe his stomach just didn’t agree. If you eat here, I recommend their patio seating. We sat inside which was ok, but when I saw the patio seating it looked cool. It’s enclosed, so it makes it easier. I’d be willing to give this place another shot, but we would probably stay away from any shrimp dish just in case.

We were happy to see that Comensoli’s decided to participate in the Kalamazoo vegan challenge. We love Italian food but is is difficult to find vegan food at most Italian restaurants.

From start to finish a meal at Comensoli’s rivals anything we have had on the Hill in St. Louis. An extensive wine and cocktail menu which includes some excellent Italian wines. We had the Burrata and Tomato starter. This eatery makes their own sausage and sauces so we made sure to try their signature pasta that includes them. Also had the Chicken Piccata and it was done to perfection with sides of tender rosemary roasted potatoes and balsamic glazed carrots. Had to try the the dessert so I took home a slice of the limoncello cream cake. At last we have found what will be our go-to Italian eatery in Kalamazoo! Will definitely be returning again soon!

We stopped in for dinner before the marathon. It got the job done. Wasn’t bad, but definitely wasn’t great.

We make the trip once a year or so for a delightful evening. The food is wonderful, as is the staff. Also enjoy the outdoor seating during summer months.

Took my wife here for our first time on date night Friday and what a gem!!!! Everything about this place is exquisite. The food is the best Italian in Kalamazoo and the drinks are top notch as well! Our waitress Alexandra K was super friendly and she recommended the pineapple upside down cake martini which was amazing! I had the special, blackened shrimp risotto and it was the best tasting risotto around and the dish was perfectly spiced! We tried the Brussels sprouts as well and they tasted just as good as they looked! The bruschetta was the best around also. Everything we had was well priced and worth every penny spent! We’ll definitely be back for another date night!

We were in the mood for traditional Italian, so we gave Comensoli’s a try. It was definitely worth a try we enjoyed all the entrees we tried including the mussels appetizer.

I like the atmosphere – it is very serene and neat. The staff are friendly and courteous. The food is good but not spicy-hot enough (and the chilis they had wasn’t any better). The drinks are very good.

Let me start by saying the food was above average. The meatballs were delicious, the chicken was dry, and the veal wasn’t anything special. The prices were too high for the quality. Our bill was over $70 for the two of us, and neither one of us felt the urge to want to come back.
