Central location, nicely decorated, kind staff, and reasonable prices for the quality and quantity that you got. The seats upstairs by the balcony have beautiful views. The 3 mole & 2 pepián (pumpkin seed and nut based sauces) enchiladas were great a great way to taste several delicacies.

Saw a terrace overlooking the church and decided to eat here. Got the best view. The poblano soup was the highlight, it was so rich and flavorful with just the right amount of spice.

They have their “famous” mini cemitas, which was OK, nothing amazing. It still added up to a decent sized cemita in the end.

Prices are higher due to being on the Zocalo, but overall I’d say its worth it if you want the view.

Loved the food, loved the atmosphere. And what a location, too. Right across the street from the church. Our table was next to a window at the front, so we had that beautiful view. And with the weather being pleasant that evening, all windows were open, which made you feel even closer. Highly recommend.

This was our first time to Puebla and we decided to try this place out. First of all, it’s right in front of the church in the center of the city. The restaurant is super clean, well attended and the personnel that work there are very nice. When you walk in, you see the cooks cooking the meals.
Pro tip: Ask to sit upstairs where you can people watch and take awesome photos of the church.
The food is delicious. Try the Mole poblano. It’s a perfect taste.
Our servers name was Erick and he was energetic, patient, respectful and attentive. He was not pushy like some servers are.
I 100% recommend eating at this place. We had a group of 10 people adults and kids. The atmosphere was perfect and the food was great!

I absolutely love this place, every time that I go to Puebla this place is a must visit! Have been there a handful of times and it never disappoints! I highly recommend the enfrijoladas accompanied by agua de limon de llano. Been here over 30 times! Best view is on the second floor on the balcony looking at the beautiful cathedral! Can’t wait to go back and enjoy delicious food at Comal!

I am officially annoyed at restaurants where servers are well-practiced in getting foreign tourists to tip in the “American style”. I struggled to order in broken Spanish and pointing things at the menu, and still getting a lot of the stuff wrong due to misunderstanding. I did not complain. I did not know how to and I accepted that as my own fault and an opportunity to work on my Spanish. I accepted the embarrassment of speaking the language poorly and getting my order wrong. The response from the servers? “You are clearly an American. Pay us the American tips.” They didn’t say exactly that, but that was the feeling. It feels shitty. After this kind of experience, I avoid restaurants full of reviews from other foreign tourists. I check out places where they make their living serving the local and don’t act differently when an occasional tourist walks in. This place, definitely not it.

Overall this place was nice, but some of the food was so so. salsas we’re not amazing and the vegetarian taco was not very good. I did like the mole and rice though.
