Social Profile:

In 1935, a post-Prohibition tavern named Colony Grill opened in an Irish immigrant neighborhood in Stamford, Connecticut. Since then, Colony has become famous for what is now its only menu offering:a one-of-a-kind, thin-crust pizza that is best served with the signature hot oil topping.

Local chain serving thin-crust pizzas with a signature hot oil in a casual setting with TVs & a bar.

This is on a list by love the burg blog as one of the best. The pizza was eaten. We wanted a salad but it’s a salad pizza. Fyi for those ordering from their web site. Interesting pie crust. Not New York style, not Napoleton style, not Detroit style, nor Chicago. It’s called a Tavern pie. Sometimes square sometimes rectangle.

Colony update your web site ordering to add the world pizza after salad for kale. Maybe offer a salad on the menu? Just a thought.

Also I recommened music for ambiance versus an NFL game. Or volume management especially when the space is completely empty as it was during our visit.

This place rocks. We went in the middle of the day when it was quiet, can imagine it gets rowdy during big events. The service was top tier…very helpful, very friendly. The pizza was awesome. Connecticut style, the toppings are consistent and they’re on the wall. I loved the vibes there. Chill sports bar with some good pie. Will definitely be back next time I’m in St. Pete!

Update 20206. Had to leave Eeyore behind since after the last experience he refused to come inside. Luckily this time. All was good. Service and food both spot on.

This is a classic Chicago bar pie. Thin crust. Fresh toppings. A solid bar pie style pizza. If you enjoy thin crust, give this place a try. Only thing I’d change with this pie is the cut. I’d go for a square cut versus the triangle. Next time the ol’ donkey shall be happy to join in for some bar pie.

Had to confirm with Google timeline to be accurate. Got seated at 8:42 p.m. and within a minute or two my glass of water arrived which was great. Server said she would be back in a moment to take my order. And then I waited and waited and waited. Server never returned. Me and Eeyroe stood up and looked around and didn’t see my server. Just quite a few people at the bar enjoying their drinks. At 9: 12pm me and the ol’ donkey walked out. No service, zero score. Had to eat elsewhere.

Very lovely. The staff is friendly, the place, apparently isn’t Irish food but PIzza. It’s based on a family tradition from Connecticut? The place played relaxing Christmas music, old fashioned style and classic style. I was there in the afternoon…may get louder at night but enjoyed my experience.:) will definitely come try the pizza sometime! Thank you Nick and Mark! You guys have a Merry Christmas!

Maybe uncommon but we decided to do our wedding welcome event here after an awesome experience with their food and service. The event was flawless, fun, and exactly what we wanted! The service was stellar! Kudos to the bar team, to the kitchen and service staff, and the management team who helped us pull it off. You made our day unforgettable and everything was perfect.

We’re from Connecticut. New Haven is the pizza capitol of the US. And Stamford Connecticut is where Colony Grill started making their great pizza. Florida you did a great job duplicating one of our favorites.

Came in after a long shift 30 minutes before they close. I hate doing that because Im in the industry but they were very welcoming. I ordered food to go and had a glass of wine while I waited. The bartender opened a new bottle for me since the wine I ordered had been opened for a while. I really appreciated that and his conversation while I waited for my food. Food was quick and I was out of there in 15 minutes. I came home and ate a very flavorful pizza with pepperoni and meatballs. Also in my to go box was parmesian cheese and red pepper. That’s always an added bonus when you don’t have to ask for it.

We were walking around looking for food before the Chihuly glass museum opened. The manager of the colony grill talked to us outside and gave us a rundown of all the eateries in the area. We decided to try Colony Grill because he was so nice. His name was Mark. The pizza was thin crust and absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend this establishment to everyone.
