This was out 1st time there. We greatly enjoyed the buffet and salad bar. We went just after the lunch rush and not very busy at the time.

Walked in in the afternoon sat down and waited 15 minutes and no body ever spoke to me. Got up and walked out.
Decided to try the place again for breakfast, since was right by my hotel. The morning service was better but food was only okay. I will find another place to eat next time I am in town

Great little place! Have been here a few times, and always great food and service! If you are looking for a good local place to eat in Russellville, KY, definitely recommended!

Definitely a diamond in the rough. The food is always good when I’ve gone. The food bar seems a little small but it’s not a problem as they keep it full and fresh. I recommend the breakfast buffet on the weekends. The interior is a little dated and seating can be limited (due to its popularity) but it’s been around a long time and it’s easy to see why. Bring cash if you can, there is a small fee for using cards.

So I ordered the steak and eggs. I always get my steak medium rare. The steak was so thin they couldn’t even put a good sear on it and none of it was medium rare. They didn’t have sourdough toast. I ordered over a easy eggs. Only to have them come really over medium. I asked for hash browns crispy I only got barely one side krispy. They’re called hash browns for a reason not hash whites.

Me and my wife tried this place because it was across the street. It was open until 2 pm CDT. They have a buffet until closing but since it was lunch wife decided to go with a chicken salad sandwich that was different but really good. $3.50. I had a Philly chicken swiss/bacon sandwich $6.99 with fries that had to be order separate. $3.29. Almost left because waitress was obviously to us ready to order, while talking to another employee. Glad I stayed food really good.

Downtown home country breakfast/lunch place. Local favorite for folks in this town. They have the basic breakfast buffet and on my visit the majority of folks seemed to choose it. Lots of scrambled eggs, piles of bacon and plenty of toast among these hearty eaters.
I ordered a ham and cheese omelette with a side of bacon and some home fries. The omelette came with country ham. If you don’t know what country ham is, you ain’t from the south, or you ain’t spent much time in the south. It was a perfect omelette. The bacon was good and the home fries were exceptional. My server was overworked but kept on top of my coffee like a pro. She also brought me water. I hadn’t thought to order that and I sure enjoyed getting it.
This was a very inexpensive meal. About $13 for all this food.
They’ve got some tables they can put together for larger groups. They also have a few booths here and there. They have a small back room that has six other tables. You order at your table and you pay at the register. I tipped my server a crisp ten dollar bill because I saw just how hard she was working. When you do a google search for that area for breakfast on a sunday morning there are not very many options besides drive through fast food. I’m delighted to say the Colonial Inn was wonderful and I would definitely eat there again.

The food was good, but it wasn’t great. This place had great service and great atmosphere, very inviting. I will definitely eat here again to try out different meals.
