We absolutely love collective coffee if you’re just going there to do some business meeting or just relax and drink some coffee or tea. But what we really love as well as the business owners are local and super easy to work with an amazing. We loved renting this space for our Global Women’s Empire Friendsgiving such a beautiful space. We are grateful to work with local business owners like David. Thankful for the amazing staff that helped us at our event. We will absolutely be back again and all the women Business owners really loved the coffee shop.

This place definitely has a loyal following bc based on my visit I will not be coming back and this place was packed on a Saturday at 10 am. My husband and I came to read a book and work on the laptop.

Pros:
– Tons of tables and seating. Various sizes of tables accommodating anywhere from 1 – 8ish people.
– Plenty of room in between tables. Didn’t feel like sardines
– Clean restrooms
– WiFi
– GF options for pastries and they use separate tongs for GF
– The everything cruffin was tasty! It’s probably from La Casita Bakery

Cons:
– The drinks are lukewarm and inconsistent. We ordered two cortados-one was a little warmer than the other bc the colder cortado had significantly more milk in it. The temperature felt like it had sat out for 20 minutes, but my husband picked them up as soon as they came out. Also, the cortados were not served with seltzer, which is disappointing.
– The line to order is unnecessarily long. There is one menu on a sheet of paper, right by the register. So you hold up the line figuring out what you’re going to order.
– The GF cinnamon roll is disgusting. It does not taste like real food. The GF pumpkin loaf was edible, but seriously lacked in flavor. Pumpkin spice does not have gluten in it. Please use more.

I also ordered the Collective latte with PB, honey and sea salt. It was nice. Very much lukewarm, but nice flavor.

Parking is kind of a pain.

I can say visiting this place was an experience. Nothing like getting a cup where the rim is covered in dust, your carafe is cracked, and your coffee tastes like race track gas station coffee. It did look nice inside but it was packed with people and the moment you get up to get your drink someone’s already claimed your spot that you just left to retrieve your coffee. I didn’t even finish my coffee I just left frustrated.

Collective Coffee is a must-visit in Downtown McKinney!
The space is gorgeous—over 4000 sq ft with cozy seating, work-friendly vibes, and everything you’d want in a local café.

Their almond and raspberry croissants are flaky on the outside and filled with the most delicious cream inside—easily some of the best pastries I’ve had locally.

I loved both the hot and cold coffee options, and the kolaches were such a fun, tasty surprise. Whether you’re looking to work, relax, or catch up with friends, this spot checks every box. Definitely worth the stop!

Traveling always involves the best thirdwave coffee shops and Collective exceeded my expectations. The coffee was splendid and the esthetic was my style all the way! I even met a few new people!

Collective Coffee is a spacious and inviting spot near the downtown area, offering a fantastic selection of coffee and pastries! We tried The Virginia and The Kentucky both were beautifully balanced, smooth, and flavorful. The Virginia had a delicate floral sweetness, while The Kentucky offered a rich, cozy depth with a touch of sea salt.

We also enjoyed their almond and pistachio croissants, which were crisp on the outside and soft, buttery, and generously filled on the inside, perfect pairings with the drinks!

Although the cafe is quite spacious, tables fill up quickly, especially during peak hours. Parking can be a bit challenging given the downtown location, but it’s well worth the effort.

Overall, the Collective Coffee is a wonderful place for a quality coffee break or a cozy spot to get some work done. Highly recommended!

My friends and I had a great time at this spacious, beautifully decorated coffee shop! I loved how quiet and peaceful it was—the perfect place to bring a book, journal, or do a word search. The customer service from Raleigh and the petite young lady was truly A+! And the coffee? Absolutely delicious. I love to “live in a cup,” enjoying the moment with every sip.

Collective Coffee is a shining gem among the coffee shops we discovered upon arriving in the beautiful city of McKinney, Texas. The moment you step inside, you’re enveloped in a warm and inviting atmosphere that lifts your spirits. The pastries are absolutely divine. My go-to favorite is the Virginia Coffee with pistachio cream pastry but what truly makes our experience exceptional is Bobby. Thank you, Bobby, for consistently making us feel valued and at home. Your meticulous attention to detail, pride in your work, and genuine care for your customers inspire us to return time and again. You’re the heartbeat of this establishment, and I hope the owners recognize your worth as much as your loyal customers do. Wishing you and your loved ones all the best in 2026.

This Coffee shop reserves tables instead of first come. After spending an hour to find parking around downtown which is very limited. I had to walk in quite a distance just to find the large table had been reserved. I had to turn around and leave. Huge waste of time. There is nothing special about the coffee and since you can come to a nearly empty cafe but cant sit because the table has been “reserved” I wouldn’t bother even going. Find another coffee shop there are plenty around.

I went on a monday around 10a. Place was fairly packed so limited seating. Staff wasn’t welcoming upon entering. There’s a quiet hum of chatter. The barista is loud considering how low everyone else’s noise level is. The guy who took my order, again non-inviting. Had a matter of fact tone to his voice that really didn’t make me feel like I could take my time to review the menu or like I should ask any questions. He was just cold, like an “ok what do you want?” kind of vibe. The almond croissant was so underwhelming. Clearly not fresh, and even having been toasted, was still pretty cold and hard. This place has cozy lighting but it’s not a warm coffee shop that I could spend hours at. I spent $15 in total on my croissant and matcha.

**editing to a 1 star, given the defensive, patronizing, and unnecessarily snarky reply from this establishments powers that be. My feedback wasn’t about seeking silence or expecting a particular “vibe,” but about how I personally experienced the space and service during my visit. I didn’t bring the croissant up in the moment because, like many customers, I didn’t feel encouraged to engage further after ordering. It is clearly easier to defend the tasteless “vibe” of the food and the employees than to address hospitality. I also said the barista was loud relative to the room. That’s an observation, not a demand for quiet, smarta$$. I wasn’t looking for silence or a monastery vibe, just basic warmth and hospitality. Cozy lighting alone doesn’t make a space feel welcoming. Based on this experience and the defensive response to feedback, this isn’t a place I’d return to.
