Stopped at this spot almost 1 year ago for the first time coming down from Reno and believe it was barely open a month or so? Went the for a second time and food was very good and authentic. Bahn mi sandwich was delicious and bread was toasted to perfection! Spicy Tom Yum soup had the perfect balance of heat and tartness. Would definitely return for more. Prices are very reasonable too

Clean, affordable, friendly service, and easy parking (unless there’s an event in town). The name “Bistro” is perhaps a bit misleading. When I think of Bistro, I think of more of a soup & sandwich type menu with European or American cuisine. Colfax Bistro serves Asian food from several different cultures, including Chinese, Vietnamese, and Thai selections. The food tastes fresh and authentic, and it’s a great excuse to visit Historic Colfax if you don’t already live in town. It’s just off of I-80, so stop in on your way to or from Tahoeo Reno!

I was greeted immediately upon entering this establishment. The employees were friendly and warm. The place was clean and the artwork on the walls was a nice touch. I ordered yellow curry with chicken and a grilled pork banh mi. The food was spectacular, prices were reasonable and I will be coming back soon to try more food.

2025. I moved to Colfax in 2005. I just had the best dining experience in Colfax in the nearly 20 years I’ve been here. The food was excellent; I had curry, my wife had pho. The atmosphere was comfortable. Everyone there seemed relaxed and loving their food. The service was top notch. I can’t wait to go back; the menu looks great!

We came from the Bay Area, we’ve lots of Vietnamese places out in the Bay. We decided to have lunch here & by far our top 5 pho spots we hope to come back! From the peach teas and Vietnamese coffees to the pho, banh mi, and beef rice plate!! So flavorful and great prices!!! At that it was a joy viewing all the painting from community members from colfax!!!

I ordered the basil fish with brown rice. It was very tasty. The fish was breaded and fried. A little crspy. There was a lot of savory basil sauce. Enough to coat the whole side portion of rice. The dish was big enough for me to have another full meal at home.

A friend and I (not area natives) followed a DELICIOUS scent wafting our way from down the street to find this wonderful place! The customer service is AMAZING. We walked in 10min to closing and asked if it was too late to order while also saying if so, we wouldn’t be upset in any way. Well, they went above and beyond by still making us both meals to go! The price was a little more than I expected until I saw the AWESOMELY HUGE portions! We both got the garlic noodles with beef and broccoli. You’d think they would over serve the broccoli/noodles but if anything, I would have loved a bit more broccoli (i just reallyike broccoli). The one meal fed both myself and my husband as well as let 2 of our sons snack a few bites as well. We will DEFINITELY be back!

The pot stickers are amazing! Loved the yellow curry. Also ordered the pork chow mein, the pork was good, but they used some kind of fish sauce with the noodles that I wasn’t a huge fan of. The service was on point. Definitely a must try. Will be back to try more items in the menu

Great new place to grab dinner in Colfax! Portions are quite large so you get your money’s worth. Their menu contains a variety of dishes to try. I haven’t tried too many dishes yet, but I definitely recommend their fried rice! And most dishes have vegetarian substitutes like tofu, too, so that’s a major bonus! Staff is always friendly when we order take-out. This place sees it’s share of patrons come evening time, so wait times for picking up take-out might be a bit longer than expected. But the staff is always accommodating offering complimentary water while we wait for our dinner to be wrapped up. The vibe here is very chill and embodies the spirit of Colfax. Colfax welcomes this bistro with open arms!
