This place is so good it makes me want to yell expletives off a cliff

Nah but for real. I’m honestly really grateful to Coho. The first time we tried it was right after my husband proposed to me, we just happened to book a celebration meal here based on reviews, and it was such a good choice—now that we’ve been here a few times it’s consistently one of the best restaurants I know of. Like, anywhere in the world, it rivals anything. Just one really delicious perfectly executed local/seasonally focused treat after another. And the wine pairings are always fab too. So it’s a really important place to us now, and every time I come here I’m reminded what a life-giving experience a really great restaurant meal can be. So blah blah blah you should go here! Thanks Coho!

This was our third straight Thanksgiving dinner at Coho, and this year we enjoyed it even more than ever before. The food was just delightful. We chose different selections for each course and shared. We didn’t find a single item we wouldn’t rate as delicious. This year we added two wine pairings, and found they were enjoyable enough to make the cost well worthwhile. And the service was just as wonderful as the food. This year we felt an amazing level of hospitality and friendliness from Anna Marie, who treated us not only like honored guests but as friends as well. Our other young server was charming and lovely as well. Finally, the great experience seemed affect the whole group of diners. It was friendly with lots of holiday cheer, but absent any family drama. We’re already looking forward to next year!

We went here to celebrate our engagement I can’t say enough great things about this restaurant. It’s probably our favorite meal we’ve had in all of Washington after living here for a few years. Great atmosphere, our servers were phenomenal and we are still thinking about the mushroom tartine and the beignets! Also as someone with allergies they were on top of it and were able to make sure that everything was either safe for me to eat or modifiable. Everything about this entire experience was hands down amazing!

Awesome evening. We were a bit of a handful after ordering a bottle of wine and not paying attention at presentation, when about to pour realized it wasn’t correct and they happily took it away and came back with the order even after it was opened. Then we made a special accommodation request which the kitchen and chef executed amazingly and really showed caring and pride in what was coming out of the kitchen. All plates were amazing and really just a screaming example of a staff that is passionate and caring.would recommend 100% to anyone

Best tasting food around! The service was above and beyond, a must try if you are visiting town or are already local. Excellent service from Isabelle, and the chefs prepared all the meals perfectly. Couldn’t have asked for a better time and well worth the price for the quality and ambiance. Thank you so much staff of Coho! Also special thanks to chef Elita!❤️

We had a great experience here! The food was awesome, we did the 4 course meal. Each course was 10/10, although make sure you go in fully hungry! The portions are very generous and we ended up taking our dessert to go along with some leftovers from our other courses. Our waitress Kendra was the best waitress we have had in a long time. She was so lovely and made us feel beyond welcomed. We are looking forward to visiting here again next time we make the trip to Friday Harbor!

Having visited SJI so many times but never got a chance to walk in, this time we reserved a table and the experience was full of happy surprise. The dish was not only delicious but visually artistic. The 4 of us especially enjoyed the small dishes, ravioli and mushroom tartine, and the deserts, strawberry ice cream and Valencia orange cake. Will definitely come back again 🙂

10/10! Surprisingly delighted & happy. A must-go. It is truly a wonderful restaurant and I’d say the best on San Juan Island. High quality all around. Service is warm, friendly, attentive and truly hospitable. The space is intimate, small and cozy. No loud music to try to talk over one another. And the food…! Such a wonderful culinary experience. I was told that Chef Tim Payne was a chef there for several years, left and now has returned since the start of the year. He clearly excels in his craft and his execution is spot on. His lovely partner, Janice, manages the front of the house with precision and genuine care towards guest experiences. This duo creates a beautiful love letter for all of us to sit & savor. We highly recommend this restaurant to everyone who is visiting Friday Harbor. It’s a rare gem, not only on the island but for those long lost intimate real dining experiences…

This is the second time I have dined at Coho Restaurant and I cannot recommend it enough! The talented chef creates AMAZING dishes that will make you wish you lived on the island and weren’t just a seasonal visitor. The staff is incredible and you feel extremely well taken care of. I am gluten free and it was very easy to find options here. This is a gem, not to be missed. I will be back!

One of the best meals we’ve had on our PNW trip. The restaurant is tiny so we felt lucky to have gotten a reservation in the short time we were on San Juan Island. We had the goat cheese souffle, gnocchi with lamb, halibut with fregola, chocolate basque cheesecake and blackberry ice cream. All of it was absolutely delicious but the halibut was probably the best we’ve ever had. Thank you Coho for this beautiful meal.
