I was very displeased with what they call croissants. They were a bag of six grocery store type, stored in a plastic bag and only shaped like croissants. I returned them as soon as I saw them, so I do not know how they taste. A bakery should have crispy, butter-layered croissants.
The plastic wrap might have also been a factor, but the blueberry banana bread was definitely also undercooked before being wrapped. In the photo you see an arrow, and at this point I could smear the uncooked portion with my finger like raw dough. I was pleased that they were generous with the number of blueberries (hence the stars I awarded). It probably would have been tasty if it had been thoroughly cooked.
I have heard good things about the place, so we will give them another try. Last weekend might have been very busy with the Blueberry Fest, so that might have been a factor in hurrying the baking.
Lattes customer service is great!
The Hot Chai was very creamy and delicious, the blueberry smoothie tasted fresh, and the chocolate chip cookie was soft yet crumbly. Overall it was a nice spot to stop off the highway to rest and stretch our legs.
Update 2-12-2019: They have added a three cheese mac and cheese to their menu that is phenomenal! Go see them today!
Update 03-23-2022: If you want a quick breakfast sandwich, I recommend their bacon egg and cheese bagel. They have updated their seating and made the place feel a little more modern. Plus they added mobile ordering so you can skip the line.
Our family has been loving Fingerhut Bakery items for many years, we are happy to be able to get the treats so close to home.
The Lodge Coffee Shop has a comfortable and modern rustic vibe, a great place to gather with friends for a cup of coffee and enjoy a bakery item.
They also carry Mary Lee’s products such as her salsa which looked delicious. She is a local business and its great to have her products available as well.
I would recommend anyone wanting a nice coffee and bakery experience to stop in.
