I give this place 5 stars considering the local competition for breakfast. Food was good and pretty quick. Service was quick for being a pretty busy Sunday morning. Coffee was great. Reasonable prices too. We will be back.

I placed an order online that says it included hashbrowns, but when I got home with my two $8 plates, I realized I didn’t get hashbrowns with either order. Just an egg, 3 pieces of bacon, and a SMALL container of gravy.. I called and asked about what I was missing, and was told hashbrowns weren’t included (although it makes you choose how you want them cooked ).. Seems they are having difficulties with their ordering system.. Will not be ordering online again.
Edit: I opened my gravy to find the already small container barely half full. Also, I paid an extra $2 for extra eggs….

I don’t know everything going on here, but they seem to be understaffed. It looks like they only had 1 line cook when we ordered during dinner time, with around 9 other people who also ordered food, and it took 50 minutes to get our food. The prices are reasonable and the food is decent, but the plate presentation, interior, and time to get our food was severely lacking. There’s too many other great options in Taylorsville to go back to this Diner again.

I went to the Coffee House in Taylorsville, NC this morning, July 5th, 7:20 am, to have breakfast. I haven’t eaten here in probably two years or more. This is my review:
WOW.
First, when I got there, the place was mostly full with one table open and a few bar seats. I set down at the bar and watched as there was only one waitress, two cooks, and a lady washing dishes. Even though the waitress was very busy taking care of at least 20 other customers, I had only been there about a minute before she came and took my drink order. She left to do something else and was back within 2 minutes to take my order. This lady hustled with juggling food orders, drink refills, and she also ran the cash register. The two cooks were very busy as well and the food was great. I never seen the lady washing the dishes take a break either. The waitress also made sure to take people their food when it was hot even if it meant leaving people standing in line at the register to pay. I wish I would have got the waitress’ name so I could give her a shout out. I did take her picture though. I will be back.

This place reminded me of the Waffle House, except the food was way better! I scarfed my food down like I had not eaten in 5 days! It was delicious! My daughter got the livermush and it was cooked exactly the way she likes it-crispy.
