The Cajun Village and Coffee House
Sorrento, LA

We had such a great time visiting the Cajun Village in Sorrento, Louisiana. This charming little village is set up much like the Country Village in Star City, with a cozy, old-fashioned feel. It features a handful of unique shops and antique stores, along with a café and even an alligator viewing area. The entire place has such a quaint, relaxing atmosphere.

We stopped in for breakfast, and it was a lovely experience. From the breakfast menu, we enjoyed the Bavarian cream beignets, omelets, and French toast—everything was delicious and a perfect way to start the day.

If you want delicious beignets and don’t want to go to New Orleans, try the Coffee House at Cajun Village in Sorrento. Their beignets are big and delicious and very reasonably priced. Add a cup of coffee and you might think you are in The Big Easy.

I’ve often got gas off the Serrento off ramp and had no idea that this great place was just a little further down. Real cafe au lait, excellent beginners, friendly people and then you can go see if the gators are visible (they were not when we checked, but the village was worth seeing. Definitely worth a stop

Awesome place to grab some beignets…best around…only place I’ve found that offers filling options…I LOVE the custard filled. Customer service was great!

We are full-time RVers. Found this place a few years ago while staying nearbt. Currently we are staying in MS, but spent the weekend in Gonzales so we could swing in to the Cajun Village before we head south for the winter. Highly recommend! Worth the drive.

This Coffee House is located on the circle intersection (round-a-bout) as part of Cajun Village. It’s located in an older hard wood floor Acadian style building. I’d say they’re better known for their beignets versus the coffee. As the menus show, they have some really good food selections too. We love this place.

Classic southern food and sweet tea at the heart of the Cajun Village. If you want to experience southern comfort food and culture, this is your stop.

Right in the heart of plantation country, this is situated next to the interstate and 30 minutes from major plantation venues. Several local shops located around it filled with different treasures, Louisiana memorabilia, and Cajun themed items.

There is plenty of parking, and there is a nice pavilion to the side for sitting and enjoying a moment outside.

We stopped here for breakfast on our way to New Orleans because of the high rating. Honestly, we were very disappointed. The biscuit was good but the rest of the food was mid at best. Really nothing special. Long line out the door. They did have a sign advising they were short staffed.

I went several times. I ordered a salad, paid over $12 dollars and didnt even eat it. It was not worth the money. Cheap ham that was high in salt. The meat wasn’t cut thoroughly. They used shredded cheese and sliced cheese, most of the lettuce was white (iceberg). The club sandwich was descent. The coke was over priced a small cup but you pay $3.
