Great wine selection, excellent food and attentive staff. They give you amazing macarons as a parting gift! Expensive but worth it!

We had a great time! We did the chefs tasting, and while it wasn’t flawless*, it still served the purpose of a fine night out, and at a good price too. The presentation of every single dish was on point and gorgeous. Our waitress kept up the energy all night and was very helpful. The menu is apparently seasonal so I would definitely be back.
* I say that the tasting wasn’t flawless, but I won’t bother elaborating as these points could easily be personal preference.

I have eaten here 4 times since they opened. Every time having an experience while dining. Feeling welcomed and a sort of sit back and relax you have come to right place the chef will take of everything. This past time very different. The menu was more Americanized and the ambiance was gone. Before, you would place your order and the chef would send out a bite size sampler of an appetizer or soup. These would come out 2 or 3 times during dinner which really set this place apart from all other restaurants. This last experience the food was good but not great and it felt like just another meal at another restaurant instead of a dining experience to remember. Hopefully they change back to their old ways.

Delicious! As a former restaurant worker in the Pittsburgh area, I have had the privilege of dining out at some excellent places in the market. I’ve met wonderful people, and been introduced to the best in food and drink. Cocothe is a mixture of all the best. The small space is cozy, clean, and intimate. The cocktails were superb. The bar also offered some fun and obscure cordials that are not easy to find. The wine list was comprehensive, and offered many excellent selections not often seen in Pittsburgh. The food was just my style: properly seasoned, and an excellent mixture of savory flavors from a vast mixture of cuisines. We indulged in the chef’s tasting menu, and we got to pick our meal (which was an excellent option!). We no longer live in the Pittsburgh market, but we live close enough (and Cocothe was that excellent) that we will be making the trip down as often as when we can find a babysitter. Bravo. One of the best meals and dining experiences I have had in quite a long time. Also, I must mention that our server Kylee was delightful.

Four of us dined at Cocothe on Saturday, 4-March-17.
We were promptly seated, with one of the managers taking our coats for us, a very nice touch. Service was quite good, with at least three servers attending to our table. Two of us enjoyed a few of Cocothe’s specialty cocktails – very unique and bold flavors.
In addition to the courses of food we ordered, the chef shared a few of his creations – all were quite flavorful and much appreciated. We had spare ribs and sea bass for our main courses – they were wonderfully tender and delicious.
While Cocothe is a bit pricey, we all felt it was money well spent. We highly recommend this new restaurant in Sewickley – and we will be returning, as the Spring menu will be available soon.

Delicious from start to almost finish. They were out of black team. Felt bad for our server cause we canceled dessert cause of no tea available. But it was a wonderful meal anyway.

Every category here gets 5 stars. From the greeting and seating to dessert, the professionalism was top notch. Not that common in PA. The food and wine selection was impressive, making me wanting to come back. The food was exquisitely prepared. We had the pâté, the fois gras, the risotto, and the lobster tagliatelli. All perfectly cooked, and balanced with selected accompaniments. Don’t expect an Alinea, Next or Schwa experience, but having Cocothé next door is a great trade-off for not having to live in Chicago.

Food was very good. We had the Foi Gras and Beef tartare to start of the meal. The beef Tartare was good but nothing above and beyond. The Foi Gras, however, was paired with french toast and pistachio butter, and definitely fall under the category of a “Next Level” dish.
For our mains we settled on the Venison Chop and Deck. The Venison Chop was paired with Foi Gras, which I believed was a strange choice, and created what in my mind was a odd obsession with Foi Gras on the menu. The Venison was a good cut though and cooked perfectly. Even though the Venison was far from a disappoint the duck is an example of how good cuisine in Pittsburgh can. It was hands down among the most well cooked duck I have ever eaten in my entire life. Furthermore, it was paired with a turnip and celeriac gratin that was not flashy but is an example of the simplicity of a dish being so perfectly executed that it transcends from being mere food into a work of art in your mouth. In addition to the taste and quality of the food we also believed the service and plating to be quite good as well.
One thing that neither me or my wife liked though was the space of the restaurant. It looks like a former retail store front and neither of us liked the layout or “feel” of the space. Ultimately I would prefer to give something like 4.5 stars, but we felt strongly enough about this fact that in our minds it could not get 5 stars. This is definitely something people should judge for themselves though.

I don’t write reviews ever. My meal at Cocote’ last night inspired me.
That chef is doing some magical work there!
Sit down. Let him roll out the food and prepare to be blown away!
