We visited Cocina Real with older mother and Aunt. The menu is amazing. The lunch menu is great. Margaritas were great. But the most excellent part of our visit was our waiter. He was outstanding. Very kind, patient, attentive, and interactive. He made the experience memorable. I would recommend to anyone.

This is a great Mexican restaurant located in a strip mall. The food was very good. The margarita was very good too. I recommend the asparagus chicken salad. It was an awesome mix of ingredients and flavor. The restaurant was understaffed but did a great job dealing with it. The cook even brought our meals to the table, a cool touch to the experience but I don’t think it is an everyday thing.

Dropped by for some Mexican food. We were not disappointed. Not fancy, comfortable with good food at reasonable prices. Our server was juggling a number of tables but took good care of us. We got the table side Guacamole which was great. The jalapenos had some heat and the salsa had a unique taste. There were six of us so we had a wide variety of menu items including basics like tacos and enchiladas. Check it out if you are in the area.

I recently went to Cocina Real with my friend and my girlfriend and wanted some Mexican in New Berlin. The 4.3-star reviews seemed good enough, as did the reviews, so I figured I’d look at the menu to see what kind of selection of meats. Was looking forward to Birria. On arrival there was a slightly different menu, but the atmosphere was very good. We look at the menu and order an appetizer of nachos and get extra chips after the first basket. The ground beef was fine and the size of the nachos were very good with toppings. So far so good. We then decided to order, and I asked about an alcoholic menu for her. My girlfriend, who recently is 21, asked about a Piña colada/ Margarita since they were listed under the same portion as margarita on the drink menu. Now knowing that they were different now, she was unaware. The waiter was very unfriendly and replied very rudely with, “That’s not a margarita.” We asked for the Piña colada anyway, and he did not ID my girlfriend, who had it out. We were looking for alcohol, the price or taste did not reflect that it was alcohol. My friend and I didn’t get more than one jarrito soda as the waiter never came by to offer us more drinks. We each order a combo of a few different items. My first thought was that the portions of the burritos and chimichangas were minimal and the quality of the meat was very mediocre. The steak was very small, the chicken had no seasoning. The best thing was shredded beef not even shown on that combo menu we ordered from, as there is more meat all over the menu. The enchilada sauce was canned and smelled like chef-Boyardee sauce. The rice and beans were just fine. We finished with an amazing dessert that was honey ice cream in a big bowl. Overall, I think that it has a great atmosphere and authentic feel, but the food doesn’t match as well. I would try again if we did have better service and could ask questions.

We’ve been here twice, and both times, I haven’t been too impressed. The restaurant hasn’t been very busy on either visit, but the staff is friendly and helpful. There are a couple of notes on the front door–one mentions that some menu items have an upcharge and recommends asking your waiter for details, while another states that there’s an additional charge for using a credit card due to processing fees. It’s good to know these things in advance. I do wish the menu listed which items have an upcharge, but I assume the waiter would mention it when ordering.
I ordered a “Create Your Own Combo” meal with one quesadilla and rice and beans since I wasn’t too hungry (plus, I have a hard time resisting the free chips and salsa). The salsa is nothing special but does the job. We also ordered the Choridip, which was great with the chips and as a topping for our entrees. My husband got the steak fajitas. The food came out quickly and in generous portions, so we had leftovers to take home. Unfortunately, my chicken quesadilla was a bit disappointing–the meat was watery, which made the tortilla soggy.
Overall, it’s not a bad spot for the price, but it wouldn’t be my first choice.

Our lunchtime server was amazing! He was personable, helpful, and very attentive. You can’t go wrong with the Margarita! Tableside guacamole is a must!!! So delicious!! It’s our Mexican Dining go to!!

One of the best Hispanic food restaurants we have been to. They do everything right. Prices are real comparable and the food is on a totally different planet in taste. The drinks taste amazing as well. Come visit you won’t be disappointed.

Been here several times. The food and service s consistently good. Got here about about 5:30 and seated right away.

We always get the table-side Guacamole. Love the fact that it’s made fresh, and you can adjust the ingredients. We like everything, with maybe a few more onions.
Both entrees were good. The Lobster Quesadilla and Trio of Enchiladas. All came out quick, hot, and had great flavors. I was disappointed that the lobster on the Quesadilla as small shreds, as opposed to pieces. It looked like fake crab, but did taste like lobster.
They have much of the standard mexican cuisine that you would expect. It’s not especially inventive, but what they do serve is all very good.

The service was sparse, but very speedy! Once we ordered, the food came super quickly, but the server never came to check on us at all. The food was pretty solid. The tableside guac was delicious! The huge chimichanga had a ton of well-seasoned meat, but it wasn’t very crispy. Others at the table liked their Gigante burrito and other burritos. The 2nd serving of chips they brought were fresh and hot, yum! (First was only slightly warm)
