Highly Recommend! Our first time eating here. Our server was Vivian and she was wonderful! Gave great recommendations and was the perfect amount of attentive. Every single item we ate was exceptional! The scallops, the Red Drum fish, the shrimp carbonara pasta, the crab soup, the conch fritters, the wedge salad, and the apple fries with vanilla ice cream “All Chef’s Kiss”

We happened across this bar/ restaurant near our hotel. After a chilly day and lots of walking it was a perfect end to the day.
We started with conch fritters which were yummy. My husband chose the fried scallops and I went with the Baja fish tacos. The tacos were generous in size and easy to eat. My husband enjoyed the perfectly prepared scallops and the coleslaw that it came with.

First time trying this place. Starts off with a charming walk down a quaint (well-lit) alley, this is not on the street. Restaurant features the wood-fired grill front-and-center for you to see. My mom and I both ordered the swordfish, because you don’t see that on the menu too often. I got mine adobo style (a bit spicy, with a nice pineapple salsa on top to balance). Fish was cooked perfectly! Very delicious! Service was good, but I think our waitress may have had a bit too much going on, at one point we had to flag someone down to refill drinks. Otherwise, our waitress was friendly and attentive. I appreciated that the music was not too loud. Very delicious overall, and I highly recommend a visit.

Food was decent. Not the best we had all weekend. Oysters were small and not detached from shells so made it difficult to eat.
Service was a little slow

We had dinner at Coast in Charleston. Sarah, our waitress, was very good — pleasant and easygoing. The renovated warehouse setting is really nice. We started with 6 Duxbury oysters, which were fresh and sweet, just as they should be. I ordered Sangria with dinner.
The entrées were disappointing. I ordered the Baja tacos thinking they’d be beer-battered or grilled, but the fish seemed more steamed, and I couldn’t finish them. My husband had the grilled chicken with andouille sausage and jasmine rice, and the chicken was dry. We didn’t send anything back, just didn’t want to deal with it.
Dinner for the two of us with tip was $110. Good service and atmosphere, but the food fell short.

My wife and 2 of our friends decided to have our anniversary dinner here recently. We were promptly seated and placed our beverage order which arrived fairly quickly for a Saturday evening. The place was busy but our server, ?Halie a nice young woman gave us the special and was very attentive to not only our table but all the others despite how busy they were. We will be back on our next visit to Charleston

Nice experience. Fresh oysters. Liked the calamari. Other guests said the scallops were great- not overcooked. The crab soup had great flavor but not much meat.

This place is rocking. Great food, fast and friendly service make it an excellent experience.
Zach and Lucas held down the bar and provided great service. I ate here two nights in a row because it was so good. I had the crab and artichoke dip, crab soup, shrimp and grits, and salmon. Everything was exceptional. Fresh, hot, and super flavorful.
If you haven’t been here, you’re missing out.

Giving it four stars overall because of the service and ambiance. It’s got a great interior and the server checked on us as soon as we sat down. My wife liked her meal – swordfish. I had the pan seared scallops. The scallops were good but the rice looked grey and the vegetables were just not that appealing. I basically ended up only eating the scallops. We also tried the mesculn blend salad & conch fritters. The salad had too much dressing and the fritters were just off; neither of us liked them – very chewy. Overall, I think if we’d been conservative – fried oysters, shrimp, salmon, etc. – we’d have been happier. I’m not ever going back but with everything else going for the place it’s gotta be somebody’s favorite. For me, it’s a one-off experience, limited sample size, but I was not a happy camper.

Coast is an amazing restaurant. It’s location is quaint, down hutson alley in downtown Charleston. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They have a wide range of fresh seafood, including the catch of the day. I only rated it lower because it seemed dirty. My table didn’t even have salt and pepper at it. It almost felt like they didn’t even wipe it in between the last people who ate there.
