We went there for the 1st time today for brunch/lunch and had reservations. Were able to get seated a little earlier with no problems. The staff was very nice and attentive until close to us being done due to they being busy.
The menu is extensive and looked amazing. Prices are higher than we’re used to in Boise, but we don’t live there so may be rhe trend now.
I got the shrimp, crab, avocado omelet which was good and full of crab, priced at $32.
My mom got the shrimp fajitas and she said they were flavorful, but the sauce was a little greasy and they left the tails on, making it very hard for my older mom to eat them with all the sauce and not get messy. She took it to go instead of eating the shrimp there.
It took awhile to get to go boxes and our checks, but they had 2 large parties come in around that time.
Overall pretty good food, pretty good service, expensive prices, neat atmosphere but loud, and hard to get out the door with people standing in the bar area.
Update!!! The management got ahold of me and thanked me for the tails on the shrimp comment and will be fixing that moving forward!!! Thank you Coa de Jima for listening ♥️

Seafood entrees and appetizers on point. Matt and Corbin served us, and they were super personable, checked on us, and took great care of us. Food was amazing and drinks were top notch. Definitely coming back soon. We had the octopus, tuna and lobster enchiladas and everything was amazing! Thank you Coa De Jima!

Excellent service, excellent food, top notch. I’m picky. My dad managed hotels and restaurants my entire childhood and then I started working in them as soon as I legally could. I know when something is done right or done just enough to look right. This place really does it right. Greeted as soon as we walked in. Got some drinks at the bar while we waited (we were early) for our table. The bartenders were actually artists. Once seated, our waitress was taking care of us non stop. She knew the menu inside and out, helped with questions and recommendations, and made sure everything was perfect. Our food was prepared to perfection. Presentation was perfect. There were no shortcuts. Atmosphere was 10 out of 10. You truly could not ask for better service and quality. Absolutely loved everything.

Our first time to Coa de Jima & I’m hoping not our last! We had some birthday travel plans change & decided to try a new spot to celebrate in town.

The atmosphere is cool, good music, beautiful & thoughtful decor. It’s dark (what you would expect), but it all makes sense when you see some of the flaming plates arrive around you.

Our server Anna was fantastic, the whole staff was. We started with calamari & a couple drinks (I highly recommend the Winnie de Pooh). The calamari was unlike any I’ve had before (the size of mozzarella sticks) & the sauces, they need to bottle those.

My boyfriend had the Milanesa & loved it, I had the Carne Asada & the flavors were all so good. Usually the beans are just a side/filler, but their black beans are SO GOOD. The only off thing was how things were served – AWESOME presentation, just a little awkward to eat. But that could just be me.

We were asked when we walked in if we were celebrating anything special & they brought us ice cream with a sparkler in it, to top off his birthday night.

It was a fun night out from start to finish, and made us feel like we got to go on a little vacation anyway.

Thank you!!!

We had other plans fall through and were told to catch happy hour here. We were lucky enough to score bar seats at the cozy bar, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience in our relatively short time there. The bartenders, Ben and Matt, were personable, on point in service while being crazy busy from the floor, and really made our experience so much better. They have a cool…tree…behind the bar that is fun and makes the energetic atmosphere unique. Sorry I didn’t get any pics of the floor and other room, but the place was fun with great food and drink. It was a two for one deal on drinks, and their margaritas were tasty. We did the esquites, which had awesome popcorn in it, first, and then did the birria and ahi street tacos, also on special, per the bartender’s recommendation. They were DELICIOUS. I can’t decide if the great service, well-made margs, the esquites, the street tacos, or the awesome energy in the place had the highest marks of the day, but it was definitely, without question, a five. I highly recommend swinging by here, and see you there (the next time we are in Boise)…

We killed the appetizers. Octopus and pork belly were my favorites.

First of all, the food was incredible. As a Boise native, visiting can be a challenge when it comes to food and beverage location, but we were referred to this place by other locals and it did not disappoint.

Our Bartender, Daniel, made us feel like we were dining as part of the Coa de Jima family. When I think of Hospitality and Service, this young man exemplifies the very definition to a T. We will be back!

We got the Carnitas, and they were truly as described. Cocktails were through the roof. Very happy with this experience! Good job Coa De Jima!

Wonderful crab cakes, so disappointed with the shrimp fajitas. It was drowning in sauce and the tails were left on the shrimps. Don’t like playing with my food! Less sauce and NO tails would have been much better.

This is a super hip Mexican restaurant in downtown Boise. We got in at the bar right away without reservations on Mother’s Day and had a lovely meal with great service. We shared a Caesar salad with roasted corn. I had the chicken soup, which the server said was the best deal on the menu, and easily the best chicken soup I’ve had in a long time–clearly house made. My husband had the airline chicken. Our neighbors had the flaming surf and turf. There is a secret door to the restrooms–impossible to find without someone showing you the way. Clever!
