Newish family owned resturant that opened in my neighborhood. And I am all for supporting family businesses.

Food portion sizes are about average but wow do they give you quite a bit of meat. And the vegetables are super fresh. So fresh you’d think they picked it this morning. I got the spicy beef soup. Although the broth is a bit oily, the noodles seems homemade and the flavors are subtle and mix really well together. It’s really quite delicious and not in an overpowering way. They locked down subtle flavors. I sometimes have a craving for just something different and wow, this unique and worth a trip.

Very modern and clean interior. Good location on corner with plenty of lighting. Customer service is good. Like who gives you tea when your waiting on take out.

Parking can get a bit hectic but all open paid spots on broadway. If not take some time to find a free spot in neighborhood. Pricing is about average for pho, cheaper on drinks. So pricing isn’t bad but you pay for better quality. I have to go back and go thru the menu but it’s a remarkably excellant restaurant

A perfect place to grab to go if you’re craving for some comfort Vietnamese food! I just wish that this place was an option for me when I was in grad school in the Chicago area many years ago. The menu varies on a daily basis, so you don’t grow tired eating the same food everyday. Besides the to go options, you can also dine in for some pho (or other noodle soup options).

I no longer live in Chicago, but was in town to visit a sibling toward the end of October. I’m glad I learned of this place through social media. The owner is very down to earth and is very friendly to talk to. I do want to emphasize that the kitchen is clean and modern. Location is perfect – still within the Argyle area but away from the main traffic so should be easier to find parking. I really do hope college students find this place to be a staple during their college years.

I will definitely pay a visit again when I’m back in Chicago.

Stopped by Co 5 on a whim and left already planning my next visit. It’s brand new but feels like it’s been part of the neighborhood forever. The space is warm and inviting, it’s simple and not overdone. You can smell the sweet aroma of authentic Vietnamese cooking the second you walk in.

I had the Bun Rieu and it’s the kind of bowl you slow down for. The broth is deep and comforting without being heavy, the crab meat tender, and the herbs fresh like they were just picked. My fiance got the braised catfish in clay pot (Ca Kho To) with rice and we ended up trading bites back and forth because neither of us could stop talking about it.

Beverages were refreshing as well; I got the salted coffee and my partner got the Matcha Latte (ask for more sugar if you like it sweet!).

The staff are all friendly and caring, checking in just enough, and you can tell there’s pride in what they’re serving. It’s not trying to be flashy… just honest, really good Vietnamese food done with care. Co 5 might be new, but if they keep cooking like this, it’s going to be one of those spots you measure other meals against.

I’m so glad this spot opened. The concept is different from other restaurants in the neighborhood. It leans more casual and has the popular well known dishes but also serves more home-style food you typically don’t see.
