I have been going to Clinton Station Diner for over 35 years and they have always been consistent with their food, service, and atmosphere. It is my go to spot whenever I am in the Clinton, New Jersey area. They have a huge menu with something for everyone. It is a landmark none chain operation that focuses on producing great food, drinks, and beverages. It can get rather busy there on weekends with wait times, so try and venture there on an off day with less of a crowd for a great dining experience!
They have very friendly and pleasant staff members and the server are very attentive. They have great meal deals before certain time frames during the week. During my last visit, I had their Meat Lasagna Special which was very good and it included, soup, their huge salad bar, a glass of red or white wine, and dessert. The Lasagna was full of ground meat and cheese and really good. I added some crushed pepper flakes and very small dishes of Tabasco Sauce and it was off the chain. I separated the dish into thirds and enjoyed it for three consecutive days.
I will continue to patronage The Clinton Station Diner as long as they maintain their consistent food quality and great customer service.
Came back today and still not any better.
I had the Coney Island burger it had chili cheese and onions.
If there was a teaspoon of chili in it that was a lot.
It was supposed to be well but it was medium.
I won’t be back.
The fact that it’s 24/7 is a lifesaver, especially for late-night runs. The bakery section right at the entrance is elite! The smell of the fresh bread and pastries hits you immediately.
Food-wise, I was really impressed. As a vegetarian, I usually struggle with limited menus at diners, but this one was different! They had a ton of options and were super cool about making adjustments to my order.
They have a full bar too, which is a nice touch. Great service, decent prices, and just a solid vibe overall. Definitely check it out.
update .. 9/2025
stopped by for a late Sat. breakfast. Service was a little slow, We came in before others , who were seated after us, they took their order first and received their food way before us. Food was this time ok, nothing special. We both ordered omelets. Mine the Denver and my husband Garbage omelet. Home fries were burnt on outside and mushy on inside. omelets nothing special. We again had the rye toast and this time was not good. To top off the meal the girl working the register was horrible. There was and elderly gentleman paying, He was slow, but I understand and was patiently just waiting my turn to pay my bill. The girl starts making dirty faces at the elderly gentleman and says to me “ What do you want?” it was completely rude and totally unprofessional. Please hire better employees. Believe it or not i can deal with ok food but not rude people. We won’t be back!
My girlfriend and I stopped in for lunch, and unfortunately the experience was disappointing from start to finish. We were seated, then waited around 15 minutes before anyone came to take our order. When the server finally arrived, we asked for two waters and a Diet Pepsi . The Pepsi came, but the waters didn’t arrive until the appetizers were served.
We ordered fried pickles to start, but they were soggy, falling apart, and didn’t appear to be breaded at all. For our entrees, my girlfriend got a chicken fajita wrap that came with no salsa or sour cream(which it was supposed too), and I ordered a Cuban sandwich that arrived without mustard(once again was supposed to come with it). Both meals included fries, but I also found a hair in mine, which was extremely off-putting.
Overall, it was a poor experience and not worth the $50 we spent. Sadly, we won’t be returning.
