The Cliff House was a wonderful addition to our family’s first visit at Stowe. With part of our group lazing around the lodge and the rest snowboarding, the gondola ride & lunch was a perfect meet-up. We had reservations, but arrived early and the manager readily offered a choice of tables. After reading reviews prior to our visit, we’d almost cancelled and were going to only ride the gondola. Glad we didn’t! The food arrived quickly and was excellent (chicken tenders were kid approved w/ mid rating). We were sure to compliment the manager that her staff provided the best service of any this week at Spruce Creek. While the prices are in line with other restaurants on property, the Cliff House team stands out with their professional mannerism and attentiveness to patrons.

Amazing spot that was a true winter wonderland when we went. The food is pricey but you are at the end of the day at the top of a mountain eating. We. Went here before during the fall and the views were amazing.

Friendly service, Incredible views!
The soup could have been hot, but it was only warm.
The hot citer hit the spot after riding all day.

This is a beautiful location & convenient spot to grab a bite if you are coming up the gondola! However, the food is probably a 2 or 3/5. The burger & fries is essentially $30 but is football concession quality unfortunately. It’s a fine burger, but the price is for convenience & location, not the taste. You’re better off grabbing lunch in town & then grabbing a hot cocoa at the top of the ski ride instead! The mac & cheese is pretty good; the main taste is butter & Parmesan. It’s a fine mac but nothing to call home about either. This place is just okay! 🙂

Patio is pet friendly however due to the weather the patio was not open. They allowed us to get a drink and sit out on the patio. I imagine the food is very good. As the drinks were good.

One of the most unique dining places in Stowe. Need to take the gondola to get to the top of the mountain. This restaurant has absolutely gorgeous views and food. Reservations required.

Service was absolutely amazing and so was the food. I loved their waffle sundae! The spicy black bean burger is a great option for vegetarian food. It’s a must try. I highly recommend checking out this restaurant.

I rode the gondola up to the restaurant. It was an experience I will never forget. As I rode to the top, it began to snow! It was so amazing. If you want to eat at the restaurant, definitely MAKE reservations ahead of time!! I made mine and got right in, but other people didn’t and were getting turned away.

Sit down food at the top of Stowe. It was pretty busy on a Monday in the winter-first question I was asked was if I had reservation, which I didn’t. She took care of a family of four and got us seats. I like this type of lunch-sit down, with drinks and relaxed. Maybe not everyone (hard core skiers) would like this. Food was great (burger, chowda, chicken fingers).

We had high hopes given the decent reviews. Unfortunately the food was poor quality and overpriced (for example a cafeteria quality hamburger was $27). The view was beautiful but we felt extra ripped off because it cost our family of 5 about $150 to take the gondola up. Once you are up there there is nothing to do other than eat at this restaurant or hike down the ski slopes. I would recommend including something else fun to do in the summer. Whether it be a play ground, trampolines, even basic yard games. One tip we learned is that if you hike up the gondola ride back down is free. It was one of the shortest gondola rides we have been on so if you can hike up I would recommend doing so.

Not too many options at the top of a mountain, but this was better than I would’ve guessed given extremely limited competition. I was impressed that the spicy black burger is handmade, and it being a bit fried gives a welcomed crisp and crunch to the flavor and texture experience. Same for the sweetness of a potato bun. After that, everything else was mostly about as expected. Decent drink selection (beer, cider, wine, etc). The pretzel bites were a bit too fried and dried out for my liking, but I’ll be honest, it was just a medium to consume some whole grain mustard can’t write a review without at least mentioning the gorgeous view. Even on a cloudy day, there are some majestic qualities in every direction.
