I ordered takeout and the lasagna Was simply not edible. You can see from the picture. It’s just stewed meat sauce with a bad flavor, no noodles. My husband was also really bad, the kids butter noodles were fine but Overall extremely disappointing, I’m not sure I’ve ever had take out this bad. This is actually my first google review, But I feel so disappointed in this meal That I feel I’m doing a disservice if I don’t give a negative review.

After over 10+ years I still think about this place. I dream of the food here. I’ll never forget my first experience back at Val’s Liquor Shop…Clemente saying in shock, “You never had malfatti before?!?! Get over here right now!” He was almost offended (lol in a good way) And he waved behind the counter to take me back showing me the board he makes it on and how he carefully rolls each one (correct me if I am wrong). I won’t forget his giant hands rolling each of the malfatti on his own. Italians are some of the hardest working people I know. Honestly, this is a lost art and very few people or businesses are in it for the passion anymore. Boy he sure was right. This is the best Italian food I’ve ever had. You want malfatti? With beef? You want vegetarian malfatti? They have it here. You want homemade ravioli? They have it made fresh. You want lasagna? It’s here too. You want good old Italian 3 bean salad? They have it. I still think about it after 10 years. My husband and I still talk about it. Like a needle in a haystack… THE FOOD, THE PEOPLE are tucked away from the typical fine dining experience you normally see in Napa…. THIS IS the kind of food I LOVE. Just good home made Italian food. It’s far superior in my opinion. Forget all the bougie experiences that Napa has to offer, this is the place I’ll be running to if I ever come back. I’m crying because I hope it’s still here if I ever come back!!!!

Getting takeout from Clemente’s for the first time. I am so loving it! Gnochi and Malfatti are soft and gooey and lovely delicious. 3 Beans salad was so refreshing. I highly recommended Clemente’s. We will definitely be back!!

I was very disappointed by this Italian place. They didn’t have gnocchi, so the owner made a recommendation for their specialty and I ordered it.
The food came, did not look appealing and was cold. The bread was packaged/store bought and stale. I had her heat the food up one more time and it was luke warm this time. The flavor was ok and I was hungry, she took that as I was liking the food.
My friend ordered lasagna and the same thing, not appealing, sauce much…..do not recommend.

Strip mall location but inside is cute. Friendly but weird service. Definitely over charged. No receipt available. Food mediocre at best. Then there’s no take out boxes for leftovers? What more get have been 3.5/5 gets lowered to 3.

This place was recommended to me by several people. We came to Napa for Mother’s Day and I made it a point to not leave without trying the famous Clemente’s Malfatti.
I got here at 11:15AM and there was no wait. It took me a while to look at the menu but finally I decided on the Malfatti, meatballs and 3-bean salad. Honesty the Malfatti tasted alright to me, I liked the meatball and 3-bean salad more. It was a good amount of food for what you pay, so it was enough for lunch and another meal.
Tips:
1) Order at the Clemente’s window, and pay at the register for Val’s. I waited for a while to pay at the window and then was told to pay the store. Credit card is accepted.
2) Make it a picnic by take the food to one of the benches or tables near the waterfront when the weather is nice!

Wow, there really is nothing more real or authentic even in napa…..all the restaurants that come here try to achieve what they’ve done and they all fail in comparison to clementes…..I’ve been going there for 40 years super impressed with the food, cleanliness of the kitchen, and authentic pictures of the owners on the wall…..not fake pics.
