The place is small but cute. Friendly service. I’d say food was good and comforting. Wings, not pictured, were served hot and my favorite part …

If you’re going for the OG Clearview SAVE your money it is NOT the same. If you want DECENT Bbq then this is your place and if your tired of long lines go here but even with a short line the are slowwwwwwww.

It’s decent bbq as long as it’s not compared to OG Clearview but even comparing it to other places in Columbus I would rather eat else where if giving the choice.

To the owner!! Beg for the OG sauce recipe and your line will be out the door like it was before you took over. And work on being a tad faster with orders too! You can still keep your sauce if you like it or others like it but put out the OG sauce too! Have them come train your employees for a little bit and I promise your store will stay busy. But if you are ok with just getting by then stay the same. I still give two stars because the food is alright and sauce is ok compared to others around town it’s not terrible but yall slowww

I had the very great honor of joining a small group that was invited in to taste the menu items and get a sneak preview on what can be expected when they open back up for business very soon. First off, the place used to be a rundown shack. Chris Dixon and his family have come in and completely overhauled the place and brought it in to this decade. It is now a crisp and clean restaurant that is almost ready to open its doors. Yet it still maintains the character that the old place had. As before, you will place your order at the counter and then you can sit in one of the two rooms to eat. This is not a large place. There are somewhere around 14 tables in the two rooms where you can dine.

I never had been there prior to this visit, but my understanding is that Clearview barbecue was in business for decades. And it seems like people cannot wait for them to open up again.

Believe me, when I say that you will be in for a treat. The menu has something on it for everyone. I got to try a chipped barbecue sandwich as an appetizer when we first walked in and then we were allowed to order off of the menu . They are trying to make sure they have any kinks worked out before they open the doors to the public again.

I ordered a medium barbecue plate with potato salad and Brunswick stew. I got the meat chopped. It was fantastic. The smoky flavor was perfect and it was incredibly moist and tender. And the portion size was amazing. The Brunswick stew was full of flavor. I’m sure I could have eaten a quart of that alone. It was so good.

I believe they will continue to have the Clearview barbecue sauce that was served there before. But in addition to that they will also serve the yellow jacket barbecue sauce that is a family recipe. Both sauces are amazing and come in mild or hot.

In the end, they came around with trays with peanut butter pie and pecan pie. My friend that I was there with agreed with me that the peanut butter pie was some of the best that we had ever tasted. It was very light and airy but full of flavor.

I have no doubt that people will continue to get the same amazing food that Clearview barbecue has been known for these past many decades. I would highly recommend that you come in as soon as the doors open. You will be glad that you did.

I’m a Columbus born Georgia boy living in Arkansas. When my wife (also from Georgia) and I come home for Christmas with family, we always stop for the best Brunswick stew ever- I’m talking at least a decade and then some of bringing their stew back to Arkansas. This year however, after the renovation, I ordered some to take back to Arkansas and the disappointment was evident. The flavor was off, the tomatoes were overly chunky… uh… even the worker who handed me my take-out order had a look on his face that said, “I’m sorry.” Damn shame. A BBQ institution ruined by someone who thinks they know better. Leave good alone!

You would miss this place if you weren’t searching for it, yet the bbq “chipped” sandwiches are something you wouldn’t want to miss out on! Super cheap for one or a huge group.

I got a large chipped sandwich for around $3, and it was great! They give you the option of adding slaw and pickles in your sandwich too if you want.

We also tried the stew and the potato salad, and both were delicious.

The wait was about 15 minutes, which was not bad at all considering there were lots of people placing orders over the phone and in the restaurant. The staff were very nice and efficient. Just be sure to bring cash, as they don’t take cards.

I only wish we had a Clearview BBQ where we live! Thanks for a great lunch.

Had the meats player, have to say very good brisket which is RARE in this area. Sausage and pork CHOPPED very good, also loved the spicy sauce. I was not as impressed with the Brunswick Stew, but that’s my personal opinion. I am just happy to find a place for Brisket, being a Texas boy that’s important . Thank you have a good day.

Ok my daughter just told me about this place. She is in love with chip slaw sandwich. Me being me I had to order more than that. Rib Sandwich good not great cause silly me forgot to ask if it had that yucky yellow sauce. It did. So guess what so did the chip sandwich and to my surprise the bratwurst dog did not but it was a little on the small side for over 2 dollar’s. Oh and I couldn’t tell which sandwich had slaw and which didn’t. The roof was leaking in 3 different places so if it’s raining wear a hat. Heres the kickers they do not take cards for payment. Cash or Check. No atm I had to go to gas station up street get Cash. People like what they like my daughter can have this one.

Really great place for lunch, if you’ve only got thirty minutes though beware of the long wait times during busy hours. The $.99 sandwich deal is hard to compete with.

Great price! Great remodeling of the building! Clean and good service! However the BBQ sauce is completely different and doesn’t taste the same. Not as good. I was so looking forward to the grand reopening with the new owners. Now disappointed after going twice. My family members say the same. New Owners, see if you can get the BBQ sauce recipe from the original owners. Our family will gladly come back!

Thank God they opened back. I’ve been eating their food since the 80’s. Always delicious. Great barbecue, chicken, Brunswick stew is better than anywhere in Columbus, and their scrambled dogs and dumpster dogs are delicious. And very good sweet tea!
