We went there today for dinner. The server/ hostess was professional, friendly and courteous. We ordered Panneer Tikka and Gobi Manchurian as appetizers, followed by Saag Makai and Dal Makhani for entrees along with 2 rotis. On the plus side, the serving sizes are decent but the prices are too. The decor is overall decent. The stained glass lampshade over our table had broken off in pieces and there was dust on it showing its age.

Panneer Tikka was the best of the lot of what we ordered.
Gobi Manchurian- plus points were the crunch and absence of added food coloring. On the downside, it also had a bit more sweet flavor. This had more the flavor of General Tso’s rather than the typical Indo-Chinese Manchurian that you get in India and also in other restaurants here in the US. Average at most.

Dal Makhani- the main flavor was of butter and everything else barely came through. Average in my experience.

Saag Makai- the menu mentions baby corn as the ingredient but the corn had been replaced with regular corn taken off the cob. That was fine but the taste was completely off with sour notes giving an idea that an element of fermentation was going on. I can’t be sure if it was truly fermenting or if some flavoring led to this taste that completely wrecked the taste in our opinion. None of us really ate anything of this. This wrecked the whole experience.

The restaurant offered us complimentary dessert which was nice on their part. We chose Ras Malai. My family liked it.

Overall it was disappointing especially due to the Saag Makai entree’s taste. Gobi Manchurian and Dal Makhani could have been better. So, unfortunately we will not go there again.

I didn’t realize but they had a all day buffet there also. We decided to try their buffet instead of the ordering from their regular menu. I tried Indian soup for the first time and it was delicious. They had plenty of food options. Maybe food options were not as spicy as some people prefer however I loved all the flavors. Restaurant is very cute and very clean.

This Indian restaurant has consistently impressed me during my two visits. The ambiance is pleasant, creating a welcoming atmosphere. On both occasions, the food lived up to expectations, earning it a solid four stars.

During my latest visit, our order included the mix Veg platter, Dal Makhani, butter chicken, Aloo gobhi, and a delightful bread basket. Each dish showcased authentic flavors, demonstrating the chef’s skill and attention to detail. The mix of spices in the curry dishes was well-balanced, and the Aloo gobhi had a comforting homestyle touch.

To complement the meal, we ordered chai, which was aromatic and comforting, and gajar halwa, a sweet ending to the dining experience. The menu variety ensures there’s something for everyone, and the staff was attentive without being intrusive.

While not reaching the pinnacle of a five-star rating, this restaurant consistently delivers enjoyable dining experiences with its delectable Indian cuisine. I look forward to returning for another satisfying meal.

I recently dined at Clay Tandoor, and the experience was exceptional. We indulged in a variety of dishes, including Chicken 65, veg platter, cashew potato rolls, dal makhani, paneer tikka, and chicken tikka masala, all of which were incredibly delicious. To end our meal, we opted for desserts. However, our server, who was relatively new and had joined just five days ago, was a bit misinformed about the menu. He mentioned that the Gulab Jamun came with two pieces each, so we ordered accordingly. Surprisingly, they arrived with three pieces, albeit not piping hot but only slightly warm. Nevertheless, the Rasmalai we ordered was exquisite. Aside from the minor hiccup with the Gulab Jamun, everything else at Clay Tandoor was excellent, and I look forward to returning for another delightful meal.

This place has best ambience to eat in neighborhoods; quantity is great so do not over order .

Staff is amazing – my chilli planner was bit spicy ( which was my fault ) . They offered complimentary desserts

Other neighborhood Indian restaurants are no at par , you will have to go o Schaumburg or naperville to get same quality .

So definitely try this out if you like Indian food

Chicken was not completely cooked. It was very hard to break the chicken pieces. The food is very expensive but not worth eating there. The service was fine, and the atmosphere was good. I’m not coming back again. I have a worst experience here.

This has to be one of the worst Indian buffets in the Chicagoland and I’ve visited alot. It was empty on a Sunday afternoon. There was no real variety. The chicken wasn’t cooked properly. The biryani had a weird taste. They charge $19.99/person complete rip off. They couldn’t even make chai properly way too much tea paati was used. When i mentioned thus to the worker he didnt understand. 3 of us went and we were not satisfied. The food was horrible absolutely no taste it’s made for American people who don’t know what desi food should taste like. They are prying off the ignorance of these customers to get by. There was a couple who literally sat down and left within 10 minutes because food was so bad. Note to owner: please have the chef go back to school and learn the basics of cooking food.

Had a great experience here! The butter chicken was absolutely delicious rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. The portion size was generous, so it felt like a great value as well. Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to for more authentic Indian food.
