Atmosphere was very cozy, upscale without feeling uncomfortable. It got pretty noisy when the dining room got full, but I was here Saturday night, so no surprises there.
Drinks: I got a simple Moscato Spritzer, nothing to write home about but it’s just wine and bubbles, so it was perfectly nice. My partner got the Limoncello Martini, which was delicious– a very smooth, creamy sip, that was pleasantly tart and sweet, with the alcohol humming underneath rather than sharp. The spritzer was way too pricey in my opinion– $13 for a glass of Moscato with a cherry and some soda is… definitely pushing it.
Appetizers: Provided bread was very nice– came out warm, soft, with a pleasantly yeasty undertone. Garlic butter was incredibly strong on the garlic flavor, which some people might dislike but my partner and I personally loved. We also got the bruschetta, which was wonderful– tart and fresh tasting tomatoes, a great garlic undertone, with a solid sweetness and subtle vinegar hit from the balsamic. The mozzarella didn’t really add to it, personally– it got drowned out by the other flavors and textures.
Entrees: I got the Fettuccine Alla Romana– this was fantastic! The Alfredo was very smooth and creamy, not broken/separated the way some places have made their Alfredo in a haste. The homemade pasta was toothsome, bouncy, but soft– no toughness, in a good way! Mushrooms were cooked very well, soft and not rubbery, and the bits of salt from the smoked ham were nice. Peas got mostly lost in the sauce but I did occasionally get a pleasant sweetness from them. Portion size was good on this, I took home half.
My partner got the Linguini Aglio Olio– They really enjoyed the texture of the pasta, but found the distribution of flavor a little uneven. The olives added nice pockets of salt, and the garlic was great when it was there, but the rest was a little bland. Could’ve used some more olive oil, and the garlic hadn’t really diffused into it. They ate all of it and said portion size was fair.
Our total bill before tax was $87, and $94 with tax. It was a delicious meal, but definitely on the pricey side, and the service just didn’t wow me especially in comparison to how I saw other tables were being treated.
As for drinks, the limoncello martini was overly sweet for my taste, while the espresso martini was excellent and perfectly balanced. The house salad was good, home made dressing was slightly sweet and balanced. My husband ordered the special, the cioppino, which was very good at first; however, as the dish went on, the saltiness became overpowering. I ordered the risotto milanese, which was generous with seafood and enjoyable overall.
We ordered a kids’ pizza for our daughter, who kept spitting it out, which surprised us since she usually loves pizza. After taking a bite myself, I understood why…the pizza had an off taste that made it difficult to eat. I’ve never encountered a pizza I couldn’t finish, so I’m hoping this was just a one-off issue.
In the end, the friendly staff was the highlight, even though the service was slow. While some dishes and drinks were enjoyable, others missed the mark.
Food was absolutely fenomenal. Bartender recommended the Mediterranean Pescatore and it was delicious.
The atmosphere was absolutely great, the staff was amazing and everything in general was great. Thank you!!!
100% Recommended!!!
I would say the only thing good on the pizza was the pepperonis which I am glad I got extra of. My friend had a dish and said the chicken was terrible, she didnt eat the chicken.
We love the wine and espresso martini, the spumoni bomba for dessert (this part is NONNEGOTIABLE), and the arancini di ana Maria for apps.. and follow your heart for main dish! We love it and pray they’ll come to Hilliard some day soon!
The restaurant itself is small, quiet, and tucked into a strip, but the atmosphere is beautiful—romantic, warm, and inviting. The leather seating, deep red tones, dim lighting, and crisp white linens give it a classic, intimate vibe. On top of that, the staff was extremely friendly, which made the experience even better.10 out of 10. I absolutely recommend giving this place a try.
