Opened in 1988 as a place to find fine wines from all over the world and at all price points. We are located in downtown Homewood right next to City Hall. Classic Wine Company has been a staple of the great food and fine wine culture of Alabama for over 30 years.

The great Google reviews were so true. The owner, Josh, and his wife are really nice and passionate about their business and will point you in a direction of where to start. They have so many wines to choose from at all price ranges. I was presently surprised when I just happened to show up before their 5:30pm Friday night wine tasting so that was great. The people I met there were really nice and helpful also. I will be back for sure.

I absolutely love this place and everyone in it. Josh and the team are so knowledgeable about their products and are extremely helpful rather you want something to go with a specific meal, wine gift for an occasion, a simple suggestion or whatever. The selection is rather extensive and you can find great wines in all price ranges. The prices tend to be aligned with what you would find it for online. No super crazy mark ups. There’s an area in the back that you can sit and enjoy wine and a few snack options alone or with others. Outside seating is available as well as a few window booths. There is a wine tasting every Friday for anyone that is in to that. I have gone with my girlfriend and a couple of friends a few times. It’s nice to learn about what you are tasting and you make a couple of friends a long the way. Classic Wine Company is a gem and I’ll continue to use them for wine finds and tastings every now and then. Grab a friend, your family or come alone. I’m sure everyone will find something they would like to purchase from the selection.

We had the BEST time at our evening with the sommelier, Rachel. Every time I go to the Classic Wine Shop, I learn something new. It’s always a very inviting and enriching experience. They are knowledgeable and friendly, and I always discover a new fun pairing!

What a treat! It’s a beautiful store with an extensive selection of wines. Josh Terrell, the owner, has a very deep and broad knowledge of wines. There is a wine bar in the rear of the store with a good selection of wines for any palate, in a very pleasant setting. This will definitely become a regular stop for me… for wine tastings, a glass of wine or a bottle for myself or friends. Thanks Josh!

Thanks for the Le Morette recommendation. We came into town for a wedding and bought one bottle as a gift for the bride and groom and one bottle for us to take back home with us. I don’t know how the wedding party liked it, but we thoroughly enjoyed it with our low country boil this weekend. Thanks so much for a fantastic recommendation and fantastic service.

Not only does this wine store have some of the best prices in the city, they also have some extremely unique and affordable events- free wine tastings every Friday at 530, som classes with wine and food pairings once a month, and even book club meetings and Star Wars screening nights. Complete with dogs inside to pet, friendly employees, and a wine bar in the back, this is absolutely a spot you shouldn’t miss.

I’ve always received great service here and excellent wine! They rotate through what’s on the menu, and you can always select a bottle from the store to open at the bar. Cant wait for some outdoor seating, but the inside is cozy and there’s plenty of room!!
