This spot is in Burien off of 156th and from what my niece said their Sunday brunch is super popular so I met up with her, my sister and great nephew. It’s Black owned and since it’s our history month I was excited to go and see it and try their food. IMO, they did NOT DISAPPOINT!!! It looks small when you walk in but it has other rooms and a outside area that you can sit in on nice days and parking in the back. A small bar is on the side as you come in that has tables that you can see the street from. Long story short, I TOTALLY RECOMMEND IT!!! Food was great, atmosphere was fun and not stuffy, waitstaff was attentive but not overbearing and will recommend items according to your taste. Decore is cute. I had the shrimp and cheese grits and finished ALL OF IT!!! Niece and I had guava mimosas…YUM! I forgot what the others had since it took me a bit to write this review but I do remember that my other nephew came with a friend of his and he ordered blueberry Belgian waffles and I was eating some off of his plate…DELISH!!! I ❤️ fresh blueberries and it didn’t disappoint. The owner mingled with the patrons, totally cool to me!! Make the time to go there for brunch or something if you’re in the area!

My wife and I heard so much about this establishment, so we invited some friends to join us and we ventured over to Burien for a Sunday breakfast date. There was free street parking when we arrived, probably because we arrived around 9:20 am. It was only a short wait and our table was available shortly afterward. Three of us ordered the Biscuits & Creole Chicken Strips, a couple of people ordered the Biscuits & Gravy, one person got the Classic Eggs Benedict and there was also an order of the Country Fried Steak & Eggs and an order of the Chicken & Waffles with berries. The Biscuits & Creole Chicken dishes were SUPERB…tasty, delicious, mouthwatering lol! The biscuits were nice and fluffy, the honey drizzle on the crisp chicken complimenting the creole sauce with a savory flavor. The Country Fried Chicken was HUGE, and the jalapeño gravy on top of it was fantastic! Eggs Benedict dish was flavorful and you can never go wrong getting the Biscuit & Gravy dish here. The Chicken & Waffles with berries meal was probably one of the best ever had. The portions were nice and filling, VERY BIG PORTIONS (several people took home to go boxes) so definitely bring your appetites. I normally don’t drink but couldn’t resist ordering up a mango double Mermosa, which was very refreshing. Big shout out to our server Kayla, who was delightful with her jokes AND service! Overall a great dining experience and I’ll have to come try dinner again at this fine establishment!

It truly felt like we were welcomed into someone’s home for a homemade meal made with love. Tony also shared that he offers catering and handed us his business card, which just added to the warm, personal touch. The entire experience felt genuine and heartfelt.

Now, let’s talk about the food — the portions are generous to large, so make sure you arrive hungry! I had the Cajun omelette (prepared as a scramble) with homestyle potatoes, a biscuit, and a side of grits. Every bite was rich, flavorful, and seasoned to perfection. It was comfort food at its absolute best — the kind of satisfying meal that makes you want to go home and take the best nap afterward.

My friend ordered the chicken and waffles and upgraded to the blueberry lemon cream waffles. The blueberries were fresh and crisp, and the lemon zest paired beautifully with the marshmallow cream, creating the perfect balance between a sweet breakfast and a delicious dessert. If you have a sweet tooth, this will absolutely hit the spot.

And speaking of sweet tooth — my husband definitely has one! After his meal, he ordered the beignets, and they were phenomenal. They were served with marshmallow cream sauce and caramel sauce for drizzling, which took them to the next level. Light, fluffy, and fried to golden perfection, they were the perfect sweet ending to an already amazing brunch.

Classic Eats delivers bold flavor, hearty portions, and unmatched hospitality. This is definitely a place we’ll be coming back to again and again. Highly recommend!

Honestly – the name Classic Eats is very generic, I didn’t look at menu specifics just a handful of photos online and it was good enough for me to check out as my goal this year is try new spots and support local businesses. Upon arrival, the vibe inside was super laid back, lot of nice simple paintings on the wall that took me back to have a “classic” feel, paintings of Audrey Hepburn, Frank Sinatra, close ups of Harley Davidson motorcycles and mid 50’s classic cars. Still not knowing what to expect, I didn’t get any whiffs from the kitchen. We were greeted and sat immediately.

Calamari – it was the first dish that came out and disappoint it did not. It was easily one of the better calamari dishes I’ve had – breading was fried nicely, seasoning was very well seasoned (many under season), and the calamari was cooked perfectly – it didn’t have that rubbery over cooked texture but it wasn’t soggy under cooked either. It was just right. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Jambalaya Grits – solid dish. The grits didn’t taste like instant grits, it was thicker in texture so it wasn’t creamy/runny. Good wholesome grits with good texture, the sausage was cooked just right and the the shrimp really was the star of the show. Great texture and perfect seasoning

Cajun Chicken Pasta – smooth sauce, perfectly cooked pasta (just a bit past al dente which I like, i dislike al denta pasta). The chicken in it was AMAZING. And the sauce had the cajun taste and then at the very tailend of the bite there was the perfect amount of heat that kicked in – but only at the end – but it was enough heat to let you know it’s there without over taking your mouth or the flavors of the dish. The mushrooms in the dish also soaked up all that goodness of sauce and literally a well balanced dish in every bite.

Biscuits and Gravy with Chicken Strips – Biscuits were perfect. not overly dense, not too airy – but just right fluffy enough to absorb that gravy and not get mushy. The Chicken strips itself was solid too, but only if you got a center piece of the strips, the end pieces that were thin were a bit on the dry side. I personally love thicker strips that get that juicy chicken taste to offset the biscuits and gravy. But overall a great dish.

Chicken Alfredo – I’ve had a lot of alfredo in my life and frankly speaking, I haven’t had one that just completely blows me away so my bar for alfredo isn’t extremely high nor is it low. I’m not a fan of store bought alfredo sauce and I despise places like Olive Garden. When we make it at home we make it from scratch – i’ve had good alfredo, I’ve had bad alfredo but never amazing and the search continues. I will say though this is a GOOD alfredo. smooth and not chunky, the balance of parmesean reggiano and pecorino really balance one another out well.

Lemon Crusted Chicken – least favorite dish. I wanted to like it. The sauce was a good sauce, balanced and even and the lemon didn’t over take the dish. my complaint is that the chicken is pounded very thin and then crusted – well for me, similar to the end pieces of the chicken strips, left the chicken not present in the meal and dry texture. Not a terrible dish by any means but definitely not something I would order again.

The thing that stood out the MOST to me coming here was how well everything was cooked and how well everything was seasoned. AND THEN the care in the presentation in each dish that came out. It wasn’t cooked to plate and throw out there for people to eat – there was thought and intention in the dish in how it was presented and frankly, that shows the amount of care and love that was put into each dish and THAT plus all the above mentioned is what makes this place a worthy place to try and a worthy place for me to come back!

I’d love to see a renaming and remodel of this place to really add to the NOLA vibe with music and decor that fits the menu but overall I love it and will definitely be back!

ONE MILLION! This place is a 1000/10. From the atmosphere, to the service, to the food. Chefs kiss!!! The mimosas were absolutely amazing. I had the mango mimosa and my man had raspberry. I can’t remember our server’s name but he was black (light skinned) with curly hair. Very mannerable and attentive. I ordered the French toast with sausage and scrambled eggs with cheese. Bae ordered the same with turkey sausage. The French toast were so fluffy and omg the tasteeeee! It tasted like cake. The syrup was so good and light but still very flavorful. The powdered sugar added on top was the cherry on top. The eggs with cheese were scrambled to perfection and the sausage was delicious! They also give strawberries with this entree. It’s not pictured but we also ended up ordering the shrimp and grits. WHEN I TELL YOU THESE GRITS WERE FYE. THEY WERE GOOOOOOD! The shrimp were so fresh and seasoned to perfection. It was a Cajun flavor. Mm mm so good. The grits tasted like they were cooked in chicken broth. IFYKYK! Don’t knock it if you haven’t tried that. The consistency of the grits was superb. It wasn’t too thick or too runny. It was just right. It didn’t taste gritty or soft like mush. Like I said they were just right! Everything on the menu was so tempting. Seattle doesn’t have many good options of food in my opinion BUT if your questioning visiting Classic Eats please don’t hesitate any longer! This is the spot. If you go just order the whole menu lol! 1000/10!

From the moment I walked through the door I found that I was welcomed. There was enough space to have a place and enough food on my plate to fill my stomach and make a happy face. This is a place to enjoy yourself truly .. This is a place where you will find laughter . So take it all in from the ambience of beautifully designed pieces of art on the walls, to the music an, not to mention the genuine welcoming, you may find from the servers even the one who aren’t at your table, not to mention the owner himself whom I can only assume makes the effort of being purposely persistent and giving things and saying hello to all the patrons that he can, even when I and my friend who I was with were eating and having a conversation, the owner walked by saw us kind of nodded and a little while later came back to us and said hey I saw you were in conversation didn’t wanna interrupt but I wanted to say hello how you’re doing thank you.. yes, this place has class and I think that’s because it genuinely has a soul.

I really enjoyed this spot. Relaxed, welcoming atmosphere with great customer service from start to finish. Everything—from the drinks to the desserts—was stellar, and the food was well-prepared and satisfying. A big plus is the designated parking behind the restaurant, which is a huge convenience given how difficult parking can be in the surrounding area. Definitely a place I wouldn’t mind coming back to.

I just had an incredible experience at Good Eats and I have to say — this is easily one of the best spots in Southwest Seattle, hands down.
I ordered the jambalaya grits, lumpia, and beignets, and every single dish delivered. The jambalaya grits were rich, bold, and perfectly seasoned. The lumpia were crispy and packed with flavor, and the beignets? Light, fluffy, and downright addictive.

When he told me they’ve been here for 10 years, I almost passed out — because how have I been missing this for a whole decade?! That’s on me. This place is a hidden gem that deserves way more hype.

You can taste the care and experience in every bite. Nothing felt average — everything felt intentional.

I’m not exaggerating when I say I would travel out of town just to eat here again. It’s that good.

If you’re anywhere near Burien and haven’t tried this place yet, get on it!!!

Amazing food and a super charming Bartender! He told me all about what the restaurant had to offer, as well as his recommendations and the Brunch menu. He really hit all the marks from offering lemon for my water, to showing me the Brunch menu to let me know what I can expect on the weekends.

I tried his recommendation, the Biscuits with Creole chicken strips. I had never seen chicken strips presented this way, but it was so impressive. The gravy was very unique and there was a drizzle of hot honey on the biscuits. The chicken bites were perfect. I absolutely loved that there was potato skin in the mashed potatoes, and the corn mix was phenomenal.
I had to ‘throw in the towel’ at the last half of the last biscuit, with about 3 or 4 more chicken bites. I’m already excited to come back and try more selections! I’m also very excited about the desserts.

I’ve been to a couple other Creole restaurants out in Seattle, but they both have very overwhelmingly long menus. This place had a simple, easy to read menu, and it was completely unintimidating.

The food came out fast, but certainly did not taste like it was made fast. Seriously impressive.

(The one pic of the menu was what I sent my boyfriend, what an insane creation!)
