Love Clarks! My family has been going here for years. The menu is always so good and the service is always impeccable. Highly recommend the fries and the Mac n cheese with pulled pork. If you are looking for a nice cocktail, high quality American food, and a festive and clean ambiance, Clarks is the place for you!

Warning!!! If you go here hungry, you will not be disappointed!!! Truly a carb lover’s dream (there is also a good variety of healthy food, but I WANTED CARBS!) the establishment is clean and the staff are very friendly!!! Highly recommend the mac and cheese!! I will definitely be back… If you haven’t tried Clark’s in Durham, put it on your bucket list!

Our server was spectacular. Informed me of all the gluten free items as well as how the entire establishment is aware of gluten sensitivies and celiac. Ensured the kitchen was as safe as could be without bding exclusively gluten free. Great food too. Will return!

They get two stars. The food was as expected. Not wow but not awful. Better ingredients than Applebee’s, I’m sure but about the same level of quality in the end.

We Ordered takeout through the online app to be prepared for 1:30 PM.
We had to wait until 145 for the order to be ready. Don’t give an option for pick up times if you can’t follow through. We ordered well over an hour in advance.

I got the cheese steak Sandwich it was okay but not a good substitute for a true cheesesteak. The kids order burgers and fries. Pretty basic order.

I think our family has been here three times since it’s opened and I can honestly say I don’t have any urge to visit again.

Dining experience might be different and restaurant, but honestly who wants to pay an extra percentage for service and those drink prices. Yikes no thanks. To be fair that last statement is a pretty general statement for most restaurants in our current year of 2023..

No more tips pay your employees a living wage!!!

Excellent cocktails and mocktails, definitely the only place in town for those. Their chicken waffles are legit too! I like the Durham history on the walls and it feel like our New England version of a pub–where everybody knows your name.

First time I went it was pretty good and probably give it 4 stars but second time was on wings night for $.75 cents I believe which were good but hard to make a bad wing, you cook them and add sauce to them. How ever the meal was terrible. I hope to get the spaghetti and meatballs but found out the meatballs are frozen, so I went with the parmesan chicken and it tastes frozen which tasted reheated microwave garbage I but frozen for a bachelor, my spaghetti was drowned in sauce. I was never ask for a refill on my water or ale. We had to ask for napkins because only one came with silverware….which you wonder we have chicken wings covered in sauce so you finger that would be a priority for customers. I sat at the table facing the street and it was 8:30 so I could see reflections in the window at the bar and I am saying this because after I politely said how disappointed I was over the meal and sitting there with empty glass of water and beer for over most of the meal I could see the waitress talking and turning to look at me and my friend! $68 dollars for 20 wings and two of the same meal and one ale not including the tip for unprofessional and frozen food that was drowned in spaghetti sauce is outrageous!!
If you want wings you can buy them at any grocery store that taste just as good.
If you want good home cook meals this is NOT the place to go and if you do then you can buy a weeks worth of frozen Food that taste as good or better (my opinion). If I want to feel like being ignored and feel like I am not welcome then I’ll go visit my older sister or go shopping at Walmart!
Just so you know I did leave a tip only cause I know it is how they make a living.

I’m only reviewing a take-out order but the it seemed like a nice place with pleasant atmosphere. The fish & chips I got last night was as good as I’ve had anywhere, including around the UK. That includes the chips which were outstanding and not simply french-fries.

We wete greeted in a welcoming manner. We sat at a table outside. Our server Amanda was cheerful and efficient. The food was absolutely delicious! I had the Build Your Own Burger. Deb had a caprese salad. The food was reasonably priced and my cocktail was well made and delicious.

Had a wonderful cheeseburger with fries. Top notch!! The location holds memories since I grew up in Durham in the 1960′ and 70’s. Back then it was a breakfast donut shop (Grant’s), then later a full restuarant (Young’s).
