Theses not enough words to describe not only the food but the owner and her employees , I got the TNT burger today and hats off to chef Laura this burger was not only huge but perfectly cooked with perfect amount of jalapeños to bring the spice and bacon piled to heaven where this burger came from . The owner Kanitha always has a smile on her face and makes sure this place feels as welcoming as home . For anyone looking for lunch or dinner … this is the spot stop here !

We recently did a motorcycle ride up to Spruce Pine and stopped by CJ’s BBQ. The service was excellent with the server quickly taking our order and getting our drinks to us. The food was very good. I had the beef brisket platter, which was super!
The prices are very reasonable, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was good (it’s a little hole-in-the-wall gem). I look forward to visiting again!

Decreased rating, they will not serve you water unless you pay for bottled water at $2.99. If a $1 for bottled water I would have done it. So I had NO drink (no outside drinks or food allowed). On the plus side the cheese burgers were delicious and my onion rings. Sweet potato tots were ok. Limited parking spaces.
We went on Mother’s Day after church, and there was no wait (how lovely). My husband & I shared the 3 meat platter (we choose smoked chicken, brisket & ribs) with hushpuppies and greenbeans. It was nice to try the sample platter to know what we would order next time. In my opinion, for $34, the 4th meat of BBQ pork should be included. For me, the brisket and the smoked chicken were the best. They have a BBQ sauce bar with a great variety. Service was good. Homemade desserts: enjoyed the peach cheesecake.

Bring your appetite!! I was driving by, and I smelled the food before I got to it! I bust a U-turn and glad I did! The owner helped me decide on a meal, and it was a perfect fit! The food was great, Alyssa and Lakin were excellent hosts, and I’ll be back again!

I have to say this is some of the best I have had. Stopped by today for lunch and got the Monster Burger. Wow it was amazing, it was nice and juicy and had such amazing flavor that I am still thinking about the burger now some 5+ hours later! I would honestly put it in the top 5 burgers I have ever had (and I have had a lot of burgers from all over). I cant wait till the next time I am in the area to grab lunch there again!

Came with a group of 11 on Sunday afternoon. We were seated in a private room and the food and service were both excellent. I had the special, a pound of wings for $9. Smoked and then fried to be crispy – really great! If you haven’t been here in a while, now is the perfect time to start.

Lacking: Hushpuppies always horribly over-fried, I’ve had thousands in my life: there are other ways to fry them without solidifying the outside just to ensure the middle is cooked. Never having made the smoked mac & cheese the days I order (multiple times!)
Overall a great place. All of the sides that they actually have are so good, I could only dream that 1 day they actually make the smoked mac n cheese, please I’m begging you!

Fast, super friendly service. Nice atmosphere. Loved the Lonesome Dove references sprinkled around (IYKYK), but most of all the food…the pulled pork was incredible and the sides were hands down the best sides I’ve had with BBQ. The collard greens, in particular, were perfection. Definitely plan on coming back the next time I’m in town.

What a pleasant and great plate of food we had. Pulled pork, baked beans, tater salad, cornbread and several sauces to choose from. Friendly down home staff.
