Top-tier sushi. The sashimi chef’s choice was melt-in-your-mouth fresh, and the spicy tuna dynamite roll had insane depth of flavor. Even the green tea crème brûlée was on point. Quality, technique, and flavor all hit. Easily one of the best sushi spots in North Carolina.

Took myself on a last minute solo date and was not disappointed! I waited about 10-15 minutes to be seated where Aaron greeted me to make sure I had everything I needed. He gave me recommendations for sake and sushi which really hit the spot! Overall, he was a great waiter: Efficient, helpful, courteous, etc.
Now for the food and drink:
The suigei drunken whale hit the spot if you like sake and for a glass the portion was very generous.
The true star of the show was the spicy tuna dynamite roll. Perfect blend of spicy, crunchy, and flavorful. Highly recommend!
All in all, 100% recommend this spot for date night, getting together with friends, or even just solo time to treat yourself!

What a fantastic experience. This is the first time that I opted out of using soy sauce at a sushi restaurant. It’s that good. Great quality fish and beautiful atmosphere. Will definitely be back! Shout out to Aaron for taking care of us!

Hidden sushi gem in Raleigh! Excellent quality sushi. Beautiful atmosphere with low lighting and soft music. The waiter was attentive and courteous, but the host subtly pressured us to finish eating before their evening rush.

City Market Sushi has to be one of the top sushi restaurants in Raleigh. The fish is incredibly fresh and every bite tastes clean, high quality, and well prepared. The restaurant has a dim, elegant interior that gives off a high-end, intimate vibe, and the food definitely matches the atmosphere. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable. It does tend to fill up on weekends so definitely plan ahead and make a reservation if you want to avoid waiting otherwise, you’ll end up getting takeout like I did.

Incredible! My friends recommended this place and I checked it out with my date. Everything was perfect from the host to the check. Waiter checked in on us regularly, food was fantastic (the spicy tuna dynamite roll really is amazing), and it has a very nice ambience.
Best sushi I’ve had in Raleigh. Rice was moist, everything tasted fresh and flavorful, flavors also combined well.
Realistically you’ll spend $100 per person if you get a full meal with apps and a couple drinks.

Great spot for delicious sushi & Japanese fare. Very nice, intimate atmosphere inside with friendly service. The only change that could be desired is a more extensive cocktail list to complement the full bar they have.

We were there 45 minutes. Waitress asked us about dessert half way through dinner. When we said probably not, she left the tab. Now mind you, we wanted another round of drinks and possibly dessert…she just asked way too soon. She then tried to take CC five times!!!! Rudest server, I’ve had in a while. While I really like the food, they’re too many other restaurants that don’t hurry you out.

Awesome sushi place in downtown Raleigh! We started with the garlic edamame and the truffle salmon. The edamame had a lot of flavor and has a charbroiled taste which was a nice touch. The truffle salmon was so fresh and the soy mustard was such a nice combo. We got the ultimate rainbow, bang bang shrimp, spicy tuna dynamite, and the salmon roll. The ultimate rainbow was my favorite and was bursting with flavor. My husband enjoyed the spicy tuna dynamite which had a smoky taste. All of the rolls were great and tasted so fresh. We are very picky sushi people so I’m not exaggerating when I say this place is the real deal. The atmosphere is modern and the service was attentive and quick. We would definitely eat here again.

I was so impressed with their sushi. It had experimental rolls that worked so well. I had the dynamite roll. It was a little spicy but nothing too spicy.
Also try the dumplings so good.
