We had an absolutely fantastic experience tonight at City Fire in Lake Sumter Landing! From the moment we sat down, our waitress Gracie made us feel completely welcome. She was friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm — the kind of service that makes the entire evening special from start to finish.

The food was outstanding. I had the salmon with salsa and spinach, and it was cooked perfectly — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully balanced. The pot roast was equally impressive — tender, hearty, and full of rich flavor. Every bite was delicious.

Between the exceptional food and Gracie’s terrific service, this was truly a five-star experience. We will absolutely be back and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Lake Sumter Landing!

Patio was nice, but we opted inside due to the heat. Service was slow, but friendly in the beginning, ended up ok. Inside classical sports bar style. Food ok. We had the flay iron pizza and the wings.

The restaurant itself is nice with a great outdoor covered patio for dining. The location is perfect to enjoy the sights. However, the food was subpar. The French dip sandwich was tough and stringy and should be avoided. The service was ok, but we will not repeat.

I recently visited City Fire in Lake Sumter Landing and unfortunately left feeling pretty disappointed with the overall experience.

When we arrived, the restaurant was almost empty inside, yet the hostess came across as cold and somewhat annoyed that our party was there. It wasn’t the most welcoming start to the afternoon. Our server was noticeably friendlier, which I appreciated, but service was still a bit lacking—especially when it came to drink refills.

I ordered the French dip sandwich, which ended up being the biggest letdown of the meal. The sandwich itself was very bland and the au jus dip was almost completely tasteless. The steak also tasted more like cheap roast beef than something you’d expect from a restaurant entrée. I definitely wouldn’t recommend the French dip.

Other members of my party had mixed experiences with their food. The wedge salads were good, but they felt the restaurant was pretty stingy with the dressing. The salmon, on the other hand, was well-liked. The cheese stone flatbread was also enjoyable, although parts of it were noticeably burnt.

Overall, I wouldn’t say the experience was terrible, but it was definitely disappointing. Between the lackluster service at the front and some underwhelming food, it just didn’t live up to expectations. Unfortunately, it’s not a place I see myself returning to or recommending to others.

City Fire is hands down one of my favorite spots, but the real star of the place is Liz behind the bar. She is absolutely AMAZING. From the second you sit down, she makes you feel welcome, remembers what you like, and keeps the vibes fun and upbeat. Her drinks are always perfect, her personality is even better, and she somehow manages to be fast, attentive, and genuinely kind all at the same time.

If you’re going to City Fire, do yourself a favor and sit at the bar with Liz — she’s the reason we keep coming back. Exceptional service, great energy, and such a great experience every single time.!

5 out of 5 in all 3 categories. Can’t get much better than that.

Our French dip sandwiches were awesome. Instead of the chips I got the house salad which was an impressive size for a side item and very tasty too.

I think the only thing that can be improved and it’s probably not something that the restaurant has control over, but smoking in the outside patio area is very annoying. Yes, it’s outside but it is completely covered so it would take quite a strong wind to alleviate it. But conversely if you’re downwind from it, it might make it worse.
There are many states that don’t allow smoking anywhere within so many feet of the establishment and I wish Florida would take that into consideration. Fortunate for us. We were seated outside but far enough away that the smell barely reached us us one time.

This place can get very busy so plan accordingly.

Carmen was an excellent server. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was taken care of without being overbearing. Our French dip sandwiches were awesome. Instead of the chips, I chose the house salad and was pleasantly surprised by the portion size for a side item. It was fresh, flavorful, and very enjoyable.
