Opened in 2000, City Cellar is one of the city’s landmark eateries. Step inside the large dining room featuring a floor to ceiling glass enclosed wine cellar. City Cellar possesses a huge award winning wine collection that can be sampled by the bottle, glass or flight. The varied menu has delicious hearth baked pizza, dry aged steaks, fresh pasta and seafood. A small plates menu is offered featuring a daily flatbread, lobster mac ‘n cheese and other daily specials. A rotating menu of hard to find artisanal cheeses is available as well. Desserts are all enticing, all house made and all very tasty.
Mediterranean fare served in an airy space with a floor-to-ceiling glass wine cellar & patio.

Unfortunately, our experience was below expectation. We initially tried to sit at the indoor bar, but the staff were significantly more engaged in conversation with each other than attentive to arriving guests. After waiting for a generous amount of time without being acknowledged, we decided to leave and then discovered the outdoor bar.
The service outside was somewhat more attentive, but still not at the level we would expect. While the food was fine, the overall service experience was disappointing and ultimately the deciding factor for us. We cut the experience short.
With more consistent attention to guest arrival and basic hospitality — greeting customers, offering menus, cutlery – and checking in promptly, this could have been a fun spot to have dinner. At the moment, however, service is an area that needs significant improvement.

The City Cellar it’s a really nice place to eat. The food was wonderful. I ordered the yellow fin tuna with coconut jasmine rice. Excellent! And a pretty large portion. We also ordered the cheese pizza which was like any other pizza, no big deal. The service was very good and the atmosphere was nice. I really enjoyed the smell of the for wood oven. I would say the only down side is the hard to see menu. It’s written small and lite colored so is difficult to read. In the evening, the lights are down which makes it dark in the restaurant. Also, the to go boxes are difficult to put together. Once put together, the lid pops open. I would recommend this restaurant.

It was a restaurant we ended up going to out of necessity after a bad experience elsewhere.
However, our waiter was very polite and understanding. We didn’t have any problems with our food either. But the calamari was very, very bad; they didn’t serve calamari, but rather scraps of batter left over from frying!I even really liked my cocktail. Would we come back? Of course, why not?

Shelby was amazing! She made our experience at City Cellar truly special from start to finish. Her wine and food recommendations were spot-on — you can tell she really knows her stuff and genuinely loves what she does. Beyond that, her personality was warm, attentive, and effortless — the kind of energy that instantly makes you feel welcome. If you visit, definitely ask for Shelby. She’s the best!

Go eat here. It’s everything you suspect it is. Blackberry Smash cocktail, steak and eggs with red wine demi, pick 5 cheese and charcuterie board. For the charcuterie we got the Jamon Serrano and the prosciutto di parma. For the cheeses we’ve got the sinful brie, the beam store aged gouda, and the LaTour which is a wonderful triple cream that just melts in your mouth. They say they’re a scratch kitchen, and every bite we had not only supported the claim but exceeded expectations. Every attention to detail and quality was so apparent. It’s got a contemporary steakhouse feel to it and probably one of the more beautiful restaurants I’ve been in all year. We’ll not only come back, but we’ll bring others. Great find.

City Cellar Wine Bar & Grill was a great find. The espresso martini was on point, and DJ at the bar made the experience even better. He was very friendly, gave great menu recommendations, and took the time to explain all of their daily specials. They offer different daytime and evening specials, a rotating soup of the day, Half-Price Martini Mondays, and Half-Price Wine Wednesdays—which is a fun bonus.
The daily special we had was fantastic, and the Greek salad was fresh and flavorful. This is a great spot if you enjoy good drinks, knowledgeable service, and consistent weekly specials. Highly recommend and will definitely return.

This restaurant has great potential, however I find it to be inconsistent. I have dined there many times, but never know what to expect. It is my opinion and observation that a larger group will get better attention then a table with only two guests. The staff can become overwhelmed and things go down hill quickly. The management needs to put the right people in the right place to help them succeed. The bar gets in the weeds and it gets ugly with so many tables waiting. Food is good, but not worth the lack of concern for my time.

Had such a great experience at City Cellar! The food was amazing — everything was full of flavor and beautifully presented. But what truly made the night special was our server, Anthony. He went above and beyond the entire evening — incredibly attentive, kind, and genuinely made us feel taken care of. You can tell he really loves what he does. The atmosphere was lively but still comfortable, and overall it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a while. Highly recommend! ✨

We had an amazing dinner here tonight. Ronaldo was a great server. The Humboldt Fog goat cheese stole the show! Great food, fun people watching and the manager, Jessica, made sure everything went well for us. I highly recommend this place.
