This little buffet used to be a spot that I frequently ate at. It opened like 5 years ago… The place was nice, when I first started visiting it. Now, it’s pretty much an avoided spot for Chinese food. The bathrooms are NASTY! I don’t understand why they cannot clean it. The smell is horrible. The last two times I’ve been there, it seems like they have no clue how unsanitary their bathroomz are, or they don’t care to clean them. On top of that atrocity, the food at the end of the night (8pm), they have food on the buffet that tastes like it’s been there for hours… I used to love this little buffet, but with the laziness and unsanitary conditions… I am not going to return any time soon…. Next time I return (if ever), I will visit the bathroom and take a photo… I will then show the staff, and post it on this review…

City Buffet is THE BEST Chinese buffet style restaurant in the area. The food is never overcooked, the sushi is amazing, they have a great selection, and the staff is courteous and very friendly. Well worth the drive out to Grand Ledge.

I love going the city buffet. We always get great customer service and the prize is very reasonable. There is a salad bar, veggie sushi, and a grill so you can make what you would like to eat. It’s all you can eat and at dinner time they have crab legs and shrimp. I have been going here for years and have never had a bad experience.

Worst food I’ve ever had. I love Chinese. Love. The chicken was cold. The chicken was HARD. My girlfriend and I sat down with a full plate took a bite of everything and spit it right back out. I told her “I am not paying for this..” But she insisted we paid and left. I love olives so I said well I might as well get my money’s worth.. Grabbed a bowl of olives and took one bite.. Spit it right back out and left. HOW DO YOU MESS UP OLIVES? Tasted like left over food (week old food) re warmed up. I went on a Tuesday afternoon. Will never return.

Love that they r so friendly here. They have sushi and a grill plus American food so that 1 person who says they don’t like Asian food can go along. Dessert is on the buffet too. Even when it’s busy it’s good food.

The City Buffet is the greatest China/American buffet restaurant a soldier can visit in the town of Grand Ledge. I don’t know of any place that an American Warrior can become 100% refueled on amazingly healthy Chinese food in under 10 minutes. The Sushi is top of the line buffet Sushi. My friend (call him Sgt Molendick) solicits me to eat here every day. At $4.95 for all you can eat a person can’t afford NOT to enjoy the delightful aromas and the feeling of achievement when partaking in the astonishing, flavorsome blessings city wok has to offer. The wait staff is exuberantly friendly. My cold pop is always filled to the brim even after I drink 74 oz in a minute because I just ran a two-mile walk (NBD) in 27 minutes. Oh, I forgot to tell you they have a Mongolian section. Oh man, I got to go I am drooling on my combat boots.

coming here the first thing i thought was is this little place really a buffet? is this the place with the all you can eat crab legs? dont let the looks scare you off. i went pretty late and there was only one couple there so i assumed i would be disappointed but i was wrong the food was great..all you can eat butter shrimp and all you can eat crab legs some of the best crab ragoon ive ever tasted and there bigger then what most places serve. i would highly recommend this place to someone looking for a good Chinese buffet or someone looking for all you can eat crab legs and its only $9.50!!!

The food was overcooked and cold, for starters. Top the poorly cooked/ kept food off with terrible service. Our waitress didn’t get the drink order right and then spent the rest of her time sweeping the floor instead of clearing the plates off of our table. Forget refills, cuz she couldn’t even be bothered to get our check. China East Buffet FTW.
