⚠️⚠️ DISGUSTING HYGIENE BREACH – SEVERE SANITATION FAILURE ⚠️⚠️
I am absolutely outraged and disgusted by my experience at Citizens Kitchen & Bar. As a loyal MGM Rewards and Marriott Bonvoy member staying at the Mandalay Bay, I expect high standards, but what I found was a severe lack of basic hygiene that is inexcusable in any restaurant, let alone a luxury resort.
Having dinner upon opening a Caesar Salad, I was horrified to find a massive, long black hair embedded in the food, spanning almost the entire width of the container. It was utterly repulsive.
What made the situation even worse was the management’s reaction. A manager named Jennifer offered a casual “I’m sorry” and a refund, treating this blatant contamination as a minor inconvenience rather than a serious health and safety violation. In a post-pandemic world, this level of negligence in food handling is alarming and unacceptable.
If you value your health and expect the quality you’re paying for at Mandalay Bay, DO NOT EAT HERE. Finding such gross contamination indicates a total breakdown in kitchen protocols. Deplorable service and zero accountability.

Incredibly delicious food! Excellent service. We were blessed to have Leslie! The breakfast burrito was so freaking good! The pancakes were incredibly thick and fluffy. The drinks were also very tasty. My older daughter enjoyed the cinnamon toast crunch milkshake! BEST BREAKFAST EVER!

Citizens is a good option for breakfast if you’re staying at Mandalay Bay or W. We came around 8am on a Sunday and there was no wait time for a table or food. The prices seem reasonable compared to other options on the strip. We got the “Ultimate Breakfast” which is currently $22. I shared with my son and it was plenty of food for us, big portions and very filling. Even my dad, who normally finishes everyone else’s plates, wasn’t able to finish his own!

EJ & Devon was so professional and delightful! I absolutely loved the smoked salmon bagel, my latte was perfect, and the Prosecco was such a nice touch. The lady next to me ordered pancakes and the aroma alone made me promise myself I’m coming back tomorrow for those! 10/10 experience, highly recommend!

I stopped by Citizens at Mandalay Bay during my trip and was really impressed. I ordered the chicken Alfredo pasta and it was excellent—rich, creamy, and full of flavor with perfectly cooked pasta. The portion was generous too. What really stood out was the service. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was just right from start to finish. Great atmosphere, quality food, and top-notch service. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Vegas.

We were looking for a restaurant that doesn’t close too early and we came across this one, prices were affordable so we decided to give a try. Thebfood is really tasty and the server, sarah,was absolutely attentive and friendly.

Our waiter was great. We had the steak and frites and spicy tuna poke bowl. Both were great! I loved the steak. The flavor was awesome and didn’t need steak sauce. Prices were great compared to everything else around it as well! While everything in this area is expensive this is about the most fair priced you are going to get without leaving the area.
