Upon entering the building we were greeted immediately and were shown the menu. There were a lot of choices to choose from for toppings.
I decided to go with the New Yorker: As soon as I took the first bite it was delicious! Fresh ingredients and fresh perfectly cooked dough. The 2 others in our party chose build your own pizzas and they both raved as well. I would recommend to give this establishment a try.
We ordered an Americano pizza with sausage, mozzarella, and pistachios. The flavor combination was amazing and the crust was perfect. We got a smoked pepperoni to go which was also fantastic.
More than anything we really enjoyed the neighborhood family feel of this place. It was super welcoming. The guys were so friendly and having fun together. It’s nice to eat great food in a place with such a nice vibe. Will be back
Today specifically we ordered two pizzas and were told they would be ready in 15-20 minutes. We arrived at 25 minutes, hoping that they would be ready after some extra time. When I walked in I told the employee my name and he said he forgot that I had ordered, then asked what the types of pizzas I had were. After telling him the ones I wanted, he told me they would be made immediately and I would just have to wait 5 minutes. Those 5 minutes dragged into 20. The working employees were chatting with their two friends at the counter, and only one other customer in the restaurant was waiting, while pizzas with the dough and sauce were sitting on the counter next to them ready to be made. It is insulting to place an order, have them forget it, then be told that it would be ready in 5 minutes and be forced to wait 20, all while the employees are messing around in front of me.
This is the worst experience I have had at Citizen Pie, but I usually have to wait 10-15 minutes, which is a complete waste of my time after calling to order. Most of the time it isn’t even busy inside, which makes me even more furious about this situation.
The pizza is very tasty but is overpriced, especially if I have to waste my time while they make it. The online prices are also $1-$2 more expensive than the menu says.
I hope they can figure out how to have pizzas ready when the customers get there. If you plan to go here just go in person and be prepared to wait, calling ahead is not as convenient as you might think.
