The place smelled great as soon as we walked in the door. My daughter and I were pleasantly greeted by the person in the front eventhough he was busy. We grabbed our menus and chose our own seating. We grabbed our own drinks and someone came to take our order a couple of minutes afterwards. The food came quickly and it was delicious. The price well-worth the flavor, we were surprised it wasnt more expensive given how good it was and the location. The place is not fancy or big, so if you’re looking for a full on restaurant vibe, this is not it, but if you want good, fast and inexpensive, this is the place. Keep in mind, there is only paid-street parking on the side streets! Will visit again!

AMAZING!!!! This was the best Mexican food I have ever had. So authentic and fresh and the staff was so kind. My friend and I split chips, guac & salsa (delicious and home made). We both also quesabirria with the dipping sauce, it was seriously one of my favorite things I’ve ever eaten. My friend also got the plantains and they were also so good. Highly recommend if you are in the area!

I can’t say enough great things about my experience catering from here. From the very beginning, they went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The customer service felt so genuine and caring. I felt like they wanted my event to be a success just as much as I did.
The food was absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. My guests kept going back for more and kept asking where the food was from. I’m Mexican, and many of my guests are too, so that definitely says something about the flavor and authenticity.
The price was also amazing for the amount and quality we received. It was such great value. Jose Ramon was incredible to work with. He was always available to answer my questions, really listened to what I needed, and made sure everything went smoothly without any hiccups. He even included a hand drawn layout showing how he recommended setting up the food for the best guest experience. That detail meant so much and really shows how much he cares.
I will definitely be ordering from them again and highly recommend them for anyone needing catering for a party or special event.

I’ve always passed by this restaurant and wanted to give it a try, so I ordered the birria tacos. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed the tacos were plain and lacked flavor. I also got the broth to go with them, but it was overly greasy and contained only onions and cilantro. I won’t be ordering from here again.

Simple, authentic place! This place is kind of hidden. It’s pretty authentic and has nice options. My husband loves that they serve breakfast any time. Service and staff is friendly. I love their tacos. Quick, easy place to grab a bite! They have a few tables inside and also outside which is nice. Would recommend. Only thing tricky is street parking only.

Cinco de mayo has the best local authentic Mexican dishes, i would recommend against the tacos but anything else you get here is insanely good. Try their home made orchata. Very Good. Thank me later.

My husband and I moved from NY to Stamford about 8yrs ago. Since moving we have tried several taco spots but have been highly disappointed especially with the Carnitas tacos. We would have to drive back to NY to get good Mexican food. WELL TO MY SURPRISE only 5 minutes from my house was this little gem Cinco de Mayo. When I tell you their customer service is AMAZING!!!! The food is EVEN MORE AMAZING! Tonight we got carnitas tacos, steak tacos & fajitas. EVERYTHING was so FRESH & DELICIOUS!!! They are going to get tired of seeing me and my husband lol. The lady at the register suggested I try the enchiladas next time so we will be trying that Friday. Yes that’s how great the food is, we had it tonight (Wednesday) for dinner and we will be back Friday. I met a man there who had just finished eating and shared with me he had passed by this establishment for years and kept saying he would stop for lunch one day. He said he was so very glad that he did as he thoroughly enjoyed his food as well. BY FAR THE BEST MEXICAN RESTAURANT IN STAMFORD, CT! Trust me I’ve tried them all just about! It’s hard to top NY restaurants but I have to admit they even got the Mexican spots in NY beat. Folks I’m telling you YOU WILL BE DOING YOURSELF A DISSERVICE IF YOU DO NOT TRY CINCO DE MAYO RESTAURANT IN STAMFORD CT!

Let’s do it. I was hungry. I was looking for something close and convenient. Behind my building, there’s Cinco De Mayo. Let’s give it a shot. You can’t go wrong with it. So I thought. The service was excellent. The restaurant was clean. The food was dry, and the order was wrong. I asked Birria and steak, and i got some dry as chicken and pork. No salsa, no sour cream. I’m complicated when it comes to takeout over the phone, so I made it simple and they still messed it up. My friend said lets call it Cinco de Bye Yo. Cause we are never going there again.

We love this place. My husband and I travel to Stamford up to 10 times per year. We always look to have a great low key breakfast. Has that local neighborhood feel with great food and service. The prices are b great too.
