A comforting Thai spot with a warm & welcoming feel. Every dish we tried was solid – the drunken noodles were flavorful and satisfying, the papaya salad with crab had a great funky kick with sweet crab, the pork liver salad was surprisingly tender and well seasoned, and the tiger cry featured nicely textured, flavorful steak. Prices were fair, and overall a super cozy spot for comforting Thai flavors.

Food was really good. Got their Crispy Fried Mussel Pancake, Boat Noodles, Tom Yum Soup, and Basil with Crispy Pork.
It’s really difficult to find good Hoi Tod (Crispy Fried Mussel Pancake) in Chicago so was extremely they had it. It was great.
The Boat Noodles were delicious. I think in Bangkok the broth is a little thicker, but the Boat Noodles here were still flavorful and delicious. The noodles were cooked perfectly.
Tom yum soup was delicious. And the Basil with crispy pork was amazing as well.

I had an amazing experience at Cilantro Authentic Thai Food! The flavors were incredibly authentic, especially the curry and papaya salad — perfectly balanced and full of fresh ingredients. The spice level was spot-on and customizable, which I really appreciated. Service was fast, friendly, and attentive, and the atmosphere felt relaxed and welcoming. Definitely one of the best Thai spots in the area. Highly recommend and will be coming back!

My girlfriend and I were craving some Thai food and wanted to try a new place, so we gave Cilantro a shot. Everything was delicious and the service was great! We got the Cilantro Platter to try a range of the appetizers and they were all great. Then we tried the BBQ Pork Pad Thai and the Massaman Curry w/ Duck. Both were delicious and super rich in flavor. Definitely recommend this place to anyone else craving Thai.

We stop here on a mid-week day for dinner and we had a great meal. Everything we ate was delicious. We had the pork belly for appetizers and it was magnificent. Well marinated and presented. I think we could have order one more because it was so good. Then we shared the duck curry. Hand down the best we had in a while. It was sweet and creamy and a hint of spice perfect for a day like today that is freezing. Service was great and a must for Thai food.

Really delicious! I’m newly Gluten Free so I called the restaurant before ordering online and they gave me great suggestions and just asked that I called back after placing the order to confirm the GF meals – she recognized my order and assured me it was taken care of. We we’re really pleased with the quality and flavor of the food. We will order again!

They don’t have any WiFi. Supposedly. Waiter was uninterested. Told me to go to the restaurant next door. There is no restaurant next door. Food was disgusting. Drippy and runny. I had the lunch special vegetable pad Thai. Then the waiter tried to get smart with me because I asked for Duck Sauce. He said it was a Chinese thing as if I’ve never been to a damn Thai restaurant and had DUCK SAUCE! I will never go back and won’t recommend it to anyone else either. That’s why no one is IN THERE!!!!

In a city with so many great Thai restaurants, the unassuming Cilantro stands out. I don’t know what they do, but the Papaya salad that much more flavorful and fresh. The curry that much more savory. The mussel pancake that much more light and crispy. And afterwards, a quick hop across the street to the wonderful Devon market.

Foods are delicious, kind of authentic, not sweet like other places. $$ just keep in mind, but worth it. Atmosphere is not so much; it is small place. If you like spicy, medium spicy is perfect since very spicy is ️ ️ ️ We ordered papaya salad, Thai sausages, dried glass noodle with special sauce ( l cannot recall the name) and mango sticky rice. I highly recommended this place

Best papaya salad in city hand down. Northeastern region authentic flavors hand down. Salty, spicy, earthy, and funky flavors in the good way. Tamarind chicken wings are out of control. Boat noodles are lit.
