This is a great little Italian restaurant. A word of caution, Google Maps gives the address as Riddiford Street but this entrance is closed and the sign outside gives the impression that the restaurant is closed. Instead use the Wilson Street entrance which takes you down a narrow passage to the restaurant. The restaurant is cozy with low lighting (but nor too low that you can’t read the menu!). The decor gives the impression that this might have been a pub at one stage. There is seating on two levels but I would recommend booking. The food is excellent and we both had the “chef’s set menu” – three courses for 69 NZD. The service was rapid and attentive and we had a thoroughly enjoyable meal.

What a fabulous place. We have just returned from our travels overseas and this beats anything at the high end of the market. The service was great, the food to die for and live music to add to the vibe. We shared Aranchini (yummy). I had Lamb Chops and my husband had Pork Belly. Both mains were to die for too.

This little hidden place is a treasure of food. Ambience is quite cozy and very welcoming.
The servers are good at customer service and good at juggling several tables during busy time.
Our favorite dish all round the table was the Gnocchi, a must try. I’m not a big fan of red meat, but the lamb was perfectly cooked and tasted well. The fresh Tiramisu was a delight and made a great end of our meal.
Italian restaurant who doesn’t serve pizzas on the menu, but does make for it by serving some delicious menu.
They had live artists playing music. I’m not sure if it is a thing every time. All in all a good place for a cozy little dinner with friends and family.

We have been returning here for years but on Tuesday night the food & service were disappointing. The waitress had to be reminded to provide us with water for the glasses on the table, to advise us of the specials & then she didn’t understand the menu to answer questions. The suppli and goats cheese bruscetta were delicious and up to the usual high standard as were the wines. The cotoletta was overcooked so a bit dry. The waitress did not know what came with the dessert chocolate almond cake so I suggested she ask which she did. It was cream but it didnt help the cake which was dry. Also the portion of cake was very small for the price. We didnt complain at the time ‘cos it was my birthday & I didnt want you spoil the atmosphere.
I used to recommend this place to others but I will hesitate to do so after this. I hope it was sn abberation, such a shame!

What an amazing place. I came here for dinner with my husband for our anniversary last weekend, and the food was just as I remembered – beautiful! I last came here almost just over 10 years ago and had the best memory of it being like this. The service was also amazing, food was just to die for. It’s also such a cute restaurant where it is placed in Wellington where it is a very quiet area, so away from some of the busyness.

I would recommend this place to anyone. Going to come back! Thanks!

It’s our first time to dine in here and we are pleased that we chose to come here. All the food that we ordered were very good. I will recommend the octopus on mashed potatoes, chicken liver pâté, Ravioli, Lamb schnitzel and mashed potatoes with tomatoes. We also received a very good service, staffs are accommodating and friendly.

Recommended by a friend and it didn’t disappoint.

Following our waiter Jaspers’ recommendations of the sheep cheese antipasto plate with crispy focaccia, lemon spritzed lamb schnitzel and a classical tiramisu everything was superbly balanced and the meal was perfectly finished off with grappa over ice with lime.

It was a world of supprise as we walked in. It felt like a different time in history and you were in a different country.
The service was lovely. She gave us time to decide and very helpful with the menu.
The lamb was the best I have tasted. Full of flavor, tender and cook perfectly, slightly pink in the middle.
We all enjoyed our different meals.
We even made room for deserts. The pannacotta was stunning.

Went for my wife’s birthday. Great cosy ambience, and the staff explained each menu item in great detail(which changes monthly). The service was superb throughout, and our waiters were dedicated and diligent.

Each course was delicious and memorable, portion size was just right as well, leaving us full but with no need to take any home. Standout for me was the tagliatelle ragu alla bolognese.

The overall experience is worth every cent.Would strongly recommend for anyone looking for a great meal to commemorate special occasions.
