This was my third time dinning at Cibo and consistently the service, food and atmosphere has been excellent! This time in particular I had called the day before to say I’d have a party of 9 around 5 the next day. They don’t at this time take reservations but the lady I spoke with said she’d make note of it and do her best. She did her best. We walked in and they had our tables ready for us. In this day in age you don’t find that kind of hospitality very often! I can’t say thank you enough!

We had two appetizers, bruschetta and ricotta al forno. Both we’re delicious! If I had to say one thing that could of made the ricotta better would be to serve a few more pieces of the toasted bread with it as they give a generous amount the appetizer.

Next for the entrees we had lasagna, baked ziti, fettuccine alla vodka and from the kids menu the penne alfredo.

I’ll say this, if you leave here hungry I don’t know how. The flavor packed into these well crafted meals leaves you waiting for the next visit! This is my second time trying the fettuccine and it was consistent both times. A buttery, creamy, cheesy dish like no other in the area.

Dessert we had both options and again they nailed it! We had the cannoli and torta della nonna. Hands down the best cannolis we’ve ever had! And the lemony, tangy and sweetness for the della was something we won’t forget soon.

Thanks to Wes and his staff for bringing such a fine establishment to downtown Columbia City!

I ate dinner at CIBO for the first time after hearing so many good things about this new Italian restaurant in town. I was not disappointed! When I first parked in front of the restaurant, I thought it was closed because it looked dark inside. I wasn’t sure they were actually open until I opened the door. Perhaps an “OPEN” sign on the door would eliminate that confusion for customers. Although it is small with only 11 tables and counter seating, it is very cozy and welcoming. The restaurant is spotless and if you choose to sit at the counter, you can actually watch your meal being cooked! The menu is quite extensive, and I was anxious to try many of the tempting dishes. A basket of warm, sliced bread with a dish of a peppery spiced olive oil is brought to the table after ordering. I started with the fried calamari, which was served with a delicious marinara dipping sauce. The calamari was lightly breaded and very tender. Then I ordered the casa side salad with the homemade casa dressing. I do wish it had been a chopped salad with romaine lettuce for easier eating and not having to cut the lettuce and red onion slices. For my entree, I got the Linguine Frutti De Mare. It had 3 jumbo tender shrimp, 5 black mussels and 5 medium neck clams with the linguine in a very flavorful sauce. I was too full to try any dessert. When I came into the restaurant, they were cutting a large pan of fresh lasagna. It looked so delicious that I ordered a serving to go for tomorrow. Now I wish that I would have also ordered a dessert to go. Next time I will try the mussels and one of the Marsala dishes. However, I wish angel hair pasta was an option instead of the vegetables with it to mix with the sauce. Maybe it is an option to ask for. The service was excellent too. A couple of suggestions I would have for even better ambience would be to use real napkins and tablecloths (either white or red & white checkered pattern) for dinner meals, along with some kind of candle (real or battery-lit) on the tables. A carryout and catering menu for family or party size menu would also be a welcome addition to Columbia City. Lastly, dressing up the exterior of the restaurant storefront would certainly increase the curb appeal of the restaurant. I will definitely be back very soon. Next time I’ll bring my husband.
P.S. I just ate my carryout lasagna. It was second to none with lots of meat sauce and cheese!
Newest posting: A group of 6 of us enjoyed dinner on a Tuesday. Luckily, we got there at 4:30 and had no problem getting 2 tables pushed together. By 5:00 every other table was taken! Everyone was impressed with the food! The tomato basil soup is one of a kind, it is so good! Our server was excellent, although she was handling way too many tables for one person. It will really be nice when CIBO completes its expansion into the adjoining store space, which should more than double the size and seating capacity.

Incredibly delicious!! Feels upscale but with secret family recipes…wonderful depth of flavor in each dish. The gnocchi bolognese was AMAZING – rich flavor and perfectly prepared. The kids’ menu spaghetti and meatball portion was huge! Fantastic deal for happy hour appetizers (we had the shrimp scampi and bruschetta – SO good) and glasses of wine as well from 4-6 p.m. Our waitress, Shawn, was kind and attentive, especially with our kids. I only wish we lived closer so we could eat here more often! Fantastic dining experience!

I waited a while to dine at Cibo to let them work out their new business kinks. I was disappointed. The atmosphere was dull. Black walls, wall plugs with no covers. We sat by the window. It was so dirty. We both ordered the chicken Marsala. The taste was good but the portion was small. It was almost like they split one chicken breast between the meals. We opted not to get the vegetable that came with the dish. We replaced the veggies with a very small salad with an upcharge. The lettuce was the fancy lettuce with no iceberg. We asked for more bread with dinner. The waitress said she would have to check if we could have more. Considering we were only given 4 tiny slices with no butter, getting a refill shouldn’t have been an issue. We won’t be back unless we start hearing about better experiences from other people.

This is my Favorite Restaurant. The Food here is Honestly Amazing. I’ve been here twice. The 2nd time I ordered a Mushroom Pasta Dish (I forgot the name) but it was so delicious. I was joking saying I would eat it for breakfast lunch and dinner.
The food comes quick and the servers are excellent and attentive. What a great place to dine in Columbia City!

I had an incredible dining experience at Cibo Ristorante in Columbia City! I ordered the Salsiccia Picante, and it was absolutely outstanding—freshly prepared in their open kitchen right at the front of the restaurant, which added a personal and authentic touch. The chef even brought it out to my table himself, which made the experience feel even more special.

The Caesar salad was hands-down the best I’ve ever had—perfectly balanced and full of flavor. On top of the amazing food, the staff were all genuinely kind and welcoming. Cibo Ristorante is a true gem, and I’ll definitely be back!

I’m writing this review as I sit here. Everything is so good. Tracy and the chef, thank you! The house-made marinara is to live for. I had the fried eggplant over pasta. And the limoncello cake! What a feast.

Excellent new restaurant in Columbia City! Just opened Feb 2025 but locals have definitely homed in on this sparkling gem! It is a cute, intimate space serving up seriously delicious Italian fare! Relax to fun Italian music, watch the chef’s at work in the open kitchen and enjoy a beverage while waiting for excellent food! Seriously, I ALWAYS have something to say (cook and baker for 15+ years) and I only have praise for this food! Got the linguini shrimp puttanesca and it was perfectly flavorful and well balanced.

Unassuming, unpretentious little restaurant that feels like home but with way, way better food. I cannot believe Columbia City has Italian food like this.
We had the mussels as an appetizer (which was almost enough for a meal all by itself!), the chicken in marinara with vegetable of the day, and amazing tiramisu for dessert. My son had the gnocchi in marinara with a homemade meatball. Everything exceeded our expectations, include the fantastic waitstaff.
When I return with my wife we will definitely try their gluten free options for both the meal and dessert!

Cannot say enough good things!!! The service was great, kind, and accommodating staff throughout the evening. The food was AMAZING!!! We had mussels, shrimp fettuccine Alfredo, and a mushroom ravioli…and limonchello cake for dessert. Everything was so full of flavor, and huge portions. Will definitely be coming back. Columbia city is lucky to have this fine dinning right downtown.
