This place feels like a tourist trap. We ordered guacamole, and we got a sad avocado salad. I’m 99% sure they only used one, extremely unripe avocado, and tossed in a wedge of iceberg lettuce. Costed nearly $9. We sent it back because we wanted guacamole and not a sad avocado salad. Manager dude comes out an argues that the lettuces is supposed to be there for “garnish”; menu mentions nothing about that, and also, who uses a wedge of lettuce as “garnish”? He ended up comp’ing it and we got a queso instead. For the actual dinner, I ordered the shrimp tacos with no pico de gallo and the sauce on the side. The food comes out, and the sauce is all on the inside and there’s chunks of pico de gallo hanging out. So, I send it back because I know the modifications were written on the ticket. I get it back, and there’s no pico de gallo (yay) and no sauce, so I ask for some sauce in a cup so I can put some on as I see fit. For the other two people eating with me, one’s food was so spicy is was practically inedible. For the other, her chile rellenos were overcooked. Manager said this was because of the panko, but panko comes out a light or medium golden brown when cooked fully. That is overcooked panko.
For a complaint not related to the food, the entire high-top seating area was closed because of a lack of staff. Towards the end of our meal, a couple came in to eat and got moved to one of the high-tops because the table they first sat at was dirty. Everyone near us pretty much just stared as this interaction went down. Not sure what that whole scenario means, but interpret it as you will.
Overall, this place sucks on food. Vibes are good though. If you want good mexican food, go to like, Torchy’s or something.

De-licious food and the drinks are tasty-and one can almost taste the alcohol (less mixer and more tequila needed-too hit and miss from visit to visit). Male server with the headscarf is super friendly and attentive. The bathroom trash cans needed attention.

Chuy’s is a chaotic, colorful Tex-Mex fiesta known for its legendary Creamy Jalapeño Ranch and the eccentric free nacho car during happy hour. Don’t miss the comforting Chicka-Chicka Boom-Boom enchiladas, smothered in their signature sauce. The service is always fast and friendly, even when the spot is packed. End your meal perfectly with a thick, decadent slice of the famous Tres Leches cake.

Good food, the spice on the tomato sauce had a nice kick and so dud the boom boom sauce over the enchilada. I got thank the waitress for her plate suggestion. Overall I enjoyed the food.

Everything was great, we had to visit a Chuys since we don’t have one where we live, and we were not disappointed. I only wish I had saved room for Tres Leches! The creamy jalapeño is the best sauce and goes on everything; rice, beans, chips, enchiladas and rellenos. Service was friendly and attentive.

This is gonna be a long one so grab a beer! I’m going to start with Maddie was an absolute great server and very attentive, after we had to move from the bar. The beginning of our experience was awful and I should have walked out the door. The bartender was rude, never smiled, was more attentive to the glassware than the customers. I got up and went to the front and asked the manager to move to a table. Our food was OK and then the manager never came back once to check on us after that. I’ve been there a couple times and it was great before, but it was my friend’s first time will probably never be back. There’s so many Mexican restaurants that have great service and better food.

Ordered the tacos al carbon. One taco meat was a little under cooked and the other was way under. I mentioned it to the bar tendered and she said the meat was a little under medium but safe to eat. Needless to say, I didn’t eat it but paid anyway. My friends always say what a great place this is, but I definitely don’t share their opinion.

A return visit was in store since my wife had never tried a Chuy’s restaurant.
This was so much better than the last! Our server Seth was outstanding! Friendly, prompt with following up and great in the recommendations.
We arrived after 1PM and it appeared that they were past the lunch rush. We started out with the queso and added the ground beef, pico de gallo for an extra $2. It was definitely good and would recommend.
We scanned the entire menu and finally asked Seth for recommendations. My wife chose the Elvis Green Fried Chili. It had been a popular choice and it’s now part of the main menu. Overall she liked but probably wouldn’t choose it again.
I chose the Combo Fajita Lunch which was decent. They were good but I’m going to try out more of the menu.

This restaurant recently opened and it was on the must try agenda. Even though we came at the noon hour we were still able to be seated immediately. It had been several years since I’ve dined at a Chuy’s restaurant and although kind of skeptical on a new opening it was a good choice.
The queso was good but not complimentary. The chips & salsa were also good, especially the Hatch Chili!
I opted for the ChuyChanga with Tex-Mex sauce w/rice & beans.
I must admit I’ll be back to try more!
I guess I never hit post after my previous comments
Made a return visit on 4/16
Ordered the queso again!! Outstanding but get the Avocado, Pico & ground beef!
I ordered the Mexi-Cobb Salad – I would order that again!
My wife wanted to try the Chicken Tortilla. We’ve heard great things about the soup and she really wanted to try. Somehow this missed the mark. Won’t go into the details but the manager made it right.

I came here because my very first experience in Kansas City was awesome. I came last year and had excellent service. This time the service wasn’t so great after the initial meeting with my server we only saw him once after getting our food and that was for the bill. There’s a stigma that people of color don’t tip. I know this because years ago I was a server, however could it be that your stigma is what kills your tip because you give half ass service because in your mind your gonna get a scrappy tip. In reality people of color actually tip extremely well since we’ve had a history in the service business for generations, its a big deal to tip as we appreciate all those who serve. Here’s a valuable TIP the next time people of color sit in your section treat them presidential and see how nice of a tip they leave you! Just try it.

Our server, Jennifer, was amazing . It was one of the best Chuy’s meals we have had! Love the new building. Portions were great, hot, and fresh! The manager, Michael, treated us like we were the guests of the day. Can not wait to go back.
