We went there for dinner and the food was fabulous, amazing grill. We had mixed grill meat, half a chicken, dorado fish, cuttle fish (4 meals), a bottle of wine and 2 fantas. Total bill was €53. We couldn’t believe it. The food was delicious. The place doesn’t look appealing from the outside and is not a typical tourist place but the food was the best we had in Lisbon.

Churrasqueira da Paz is the definition of an authentic, local Portuguese grill house, the kind of place you would never find in a tourist guidebook, but once you enter, you immediately understand why it’s always full. The restaurant sits on a quiet, slightly uphill street, and from the outside you can already see the lively atmosphere inside: tables packed with locals, families, and regulars enjoying huge plates of grilled meat.

The space is simple, narrow, and very traditional, white tiles, modest decor, and a long row of tightly packed tables. It feels like a real neighbourhood spot where everyone knows each other. Right next to the entrance, you see the heart of the place: the grill. The cooks work constantly over the flames, preparing chicken, pork, and fish with incredible speed and skill. Just the smell coming from the grill is enough to make you hungry.

The staff may not speak English well, but they make up for it with friendliness and genuine effort. They are warm, cheerful, and always ready to help. You feel welcome the moment you walk in.

The food is exactly what you’d expect from a true churrasqueira: delicious, simple, and full of flavour. The grilled chicken is juicy, the pork perfectly cooked, and the portions are surprisingly generous. Everything tastes fresh and homemade.

Churrasqueira da Paz offers the kind of local experience that travellers always hope to find, authentic food, friendly people, and an atmosphere full of life. If you want to eat like a local in Lisbon, this is definitely a place worth visiting.

What was a locals spot has a lot of tourists but they are good natured about it from my visit.

The best grilled fish we had in Lisboa, the steak was good but the fish better, I recommend the dorada.

Staff was friendly and they take cards.

This was hands down the best meal I had in Lisbon, and honestly, one of the best I’ve had in a long time. The Peri Peri chicken was absolutely to die for! It was my last dinner of the trip, and what a way to end it… WOW. Nando’s has nothing on this place. The fries were amazing too! The restaurant was full of locals who all raved about the fish, which I wish I could’ve tried too, but there was no way I could fit more food. Do yourself a favour and eat here! 100000/10!

This place had the best sea bream I’ve ever had! I’m picky when it comes to fish and don’t eat it often because it has to be cooked right, my boyfriend ordered it and I ended up eating half the sea bream, so good! Definitely try this place!

Disclosure: This is a small neighborhood restaurant, it seats around 28-30 people at the most in very close quarters. The food is simple, good and pretty cheap. Both my wife and I had the soup of the day (creamy vegetable) and the house steak that came with a fried egg on top, rice and fries. Bread and Butter, a huge beer and a couple of glasses of house wine for my wife. Total 31 Euros. Everything was pretty flavorful and very filling, we left full and happy. Great spot for a quick lunch.

A true hidden gem serving fresh seafood at an affordable price. We tried sea bream, seabass, half chicken and perch steak with fries, rice and.a jar of house made red wine.

The soup was delicious too, so is the bread and olives. It’s a family owned and run establishment that makes you feel like your are their guests at home.

For a party of 5 the bill was 65 Euros. I highly recommend it!

If you’re looking for a truly authentic and affordable dining experience in Lisbon, look no further than Churrasqueira da Paz. This small, family-run restaurant in the Alfama district offers delicious, hearty Portuguese cuisine at incredibly reasonable prices.

We were pleasantly surprised to find such a gem, especially considering the low cost of the meal. For under €20 per person, we enjoyed a delicious steak with fries, a refreshing beer, and a delightful dessert. The quality of the food was excellent, and the portions were generous.

The atmosphere at Churrasqueira da Paz is warm and inviting. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home. It’s clear that this restaurant is a local favorite, and it’s easy to see why.

While the restaurant can get quite crowded, especially during peak hours, the wait is definitely worth it. Just be prepared to be patient and enjoy the lively atmosphere.

Overall, Churrasqueira da Paz is a must-visit for anyone seeking a delicious and affordable meal in Lisbon. The food, service, and atmosphere are all top-notch, making it a truly memorable dining experience.
