The bone-in tenderloin was perfect and served “Oscar style” with asparagus, lump crab meat and bearnaise. The crust below was flavorful and amazing. I added some seared scallops which were divine in their roasted red pepper and lemon butter sauce. The sautéed buttered mushrooms in sherry were a great addition and even the rolls at the start were perfect. The “Churchill Reserve” Cabernet Sauvignon was a perfect compliment to this meal following a starter of Lagavulin 16. Heading to a show at the Fox with the flavors still there. Highly recommended! Yes it’s a bit pricey but entirely worth it.
Service stood out in a good way. Your server stays attentive without hovering, knows the menu well, and keeps things moving at the right pace. Drinks deserve a mention as well. Cocktails are well-made, the beer list covers solid options, and everything arrives exactly as it should. The ambiance leans upscale and traditional—dim lighting, comfortable seating, and a calm, polished feel that works for date nights or business dinners.
It’s not cheap, and while the quality justifies it, you’ll feel it if you’re watching your budget. Still, if you’re deciding whether Churchill’s is worth it for a special occasion or a serious steak craving, the answer is yes. You’re paying for consistency, service, and a steak done right.
Also, the wine selection was incredible!
I came in and sat at the bar. I ordered an old fashioned. Their “signature” old fashioned is made with makers. Even a 1 star dive bar makes them with makers. With a restaurant of this supposed caliber I expected a better quality of bourbon. They really messed up when they used crushed ice. Everyone knows a true old fashioned is made with a single cube of ice.
The crab cakes for an appetizer were good. Fishy for crab cakes but were good.
The ribeye I wouldn’t feed it to my dog. All the seasonings and flavor on the outside are burnt to a crisp. For a medium rare steak in a high end steakhouse, this is unacceptable to have the outside burnt like that. Completely lacked flavor.
For the price of $74 for a steak, I’ve had better steak at Applebees.
On top of everything my valet knew how to drive a stick! Haha
I had been recommended Churchill’s by a group of friends who had been there last year. They said it was very exclusive, so I made a reservation. The process of getting a table was very easy. They were moderately busy, but it was a non-issue.
I enjoyed the decor very much. It had a very rustic, “old-country” feel to it. Everything was varnished wood, and made me feel very welcome.
The obvious best part was the food. I began with a salad which was very good. I could tell they used fresh ingredients. But the reason I came was the steak, and I was very impressed. Simply put, it melted in my mouth. I asked for it rare, and it came out nearly blue-rare, but the taste was so rich, I overlooked it. Id also like to mention their extensive wine list and their very helpful waitstaff who was able to recommend a wine and scotch combination for my food that didn’t break the bank.
Overall, I had a very positive experience here. It was a little expensive, but you get extremely good value for your money. Id give Churchill’s 5 stars and recommend it to anybody in the Spokane area looking for an elegant meal.
