The tacos al pastor are the main event at Chunga’s, and for good reason. Pork, pineapple and some greenery make for a very satisfying, non-greasy meal. All kinds of fun ingredients dot the menu, including a few vegetarian options like cactus, mushroom and flor de calabaza (google that last one since translation is hard to find). If you want something a little more authentic, try the alambre, a dish that’s a bunch of normal Mexican ingredients mixed together in a tasty mess. Cool the spiciness off with a papaya shake. Love Chungas. We are moving into the building next door and I will likely be coming here a lot. Chicken Enchiladas are really good. Green sauce is toooo salty. I’d prefer refried beens over black beans which is what they serve and sometimes have a burnt taste but overall, Chungas is very good and still relatively cheap. The soda machine is usually out of order which is a probably a good thing.

I only give them 4 stars because I have yet to find the flavor I grew up with in Northern Mexico. But I will say that even though the expected flavor wasn’t there, their tacos were yummy . I would recommend them. Also, the service was great. I’ll go back and try some of their other stuff.
