Outstanding food and attentive service in a setting of beautiful decor with a festive atmosphere. The Spicy Seared Ahi Tuna was prepared to perfection and is highly recommended. The Focaccia Flat Bread appetizer and the Bread Pudding dessert were very enjoyable.

Service was impeccable and they were extremely busy on this Saturday night. The red snapper was flaky and juicy, and the grit cake was light and went perfectly with the snapper. The Zoo sushi roll was light and the perfect temperature. Most places serve their sushi too cold, but this was absolute spot on. We celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary here. The hostess, the bartender, and the server took great care of us! The appletini was perfect as well. I will have a hard time going anywhere else in Tuscaloosa for a meal like this again. Well done, Chuck’s Fish! You have a lifetime fan and follower.

Loved it have been here twice and each time we have had great service and delicious food. Had the fish of the day blanked at has been made to perfection. My party has had sushi, shrimp, or another dish that all have had great flavor. We will be back hopefully for the parents’ weekend. Almost forgot about the white chocolate bread pudding it was a perfect ending to a memorable meal.

Chuck’s Fish is located downtown Tuscaloosa and is one of my favorite restaurants in Tuscaloosa. The food is always fresh and the service is always great. If you have a large party I would come early if you don’t want to wait. If it’s game day you definitely need to plan ahead. The sushi is great, actually some of the best. There pizzas are also excellent. It’s all great!

I got the Grilled Amberjack with Gouda grit cake and it was very good. Just fantastic. We have heard great things about the sushi as well so we ordered the Backdown roll and it wasn’t anything special, just didn’t taste fantastic. Fresh ingredients high quality rice, put together well, just tasted sort of bland. My wife got the tuna and it wasn’t my favorite. She wouldn’t eat it because it was basically raw, and I realize this is a common way to cook tuna, but she didn’t expect it and therefore didn’t want to eat it. The sauce was spicy and heavy on ginger flavor which isn’t my favorite. I am also not a huge fan of mostly raw fish, but I do realize that is the way most people eat Tuna. For the price the seating was an issue. We were approximately 2 ft from the tables on either side of us on a bench. This is an expensive restaurant that we wouldn’t go to unless we were going on a date or had a good reason to go so it wasn’t the best experience to be so close to other people side by side, maybe if we were at an angle it wouldn’t be so bad. Anyway, my Amberjack was excellent and the sauce was great, but serving size was very small overall with a small side of broccoli and a single small grit cake. You will need to get an appetizer or pregame unless you feel like spending a very large sum of money. Total for all 3 items no drink was right at $100 a little more with a decent tip. They do have a military discount as well.

Super cool place, but a little loud. If you are planning a high energy get together it’s perfect, but maybe not a quiet dinner.

Visited on a Saturday during early move in for the University. Restaurant was busy but just a short wait for a table, service and food was excellent. Very likely to visit again when in town.

Very good food, service, and atmosphere. Service a little slow but very friendly. Pizza is wood fired. Crispy crust. Place can be a bit noisy. TV screens all around for sports games.
