Passing through and Googled restaurants in the area. Christy Mae’s had great reviews so we headed over. This cute eatery has a nice, diverse menu, friendly staff and delicious food! I tried the green chile turkey pot pie with a delicious sweet cornbread and Sir had the green chili chopped sirloin with rice. Both meals were filling,huge actually! Delicious with perfect flavors that hit the spot. So glad we got off I40 and stopped. Recommend!

I know the atmosphere is different but you’ll get great service and great food for more than half the price! At The Downs!!!! Seems they cater to a certain demographic. Just my observation. The chicken pot pie was a pleasant surprise, it was worthwhile for what it is and prepared to a close to home level of quality. We were a group of 6, and all had various meals which were well portioned, very basic dishes done with straightforward presentation. Nothing fancy but all well prepared in good sized portions.
Our server was very pleasant and as I scanned the room the same could be said about every member of their staff within eyesight. This establishment is an easy recommendation when you want simple food in a clean and pleasant environment for mid level pricing assume $15 – $28 per head.

I’ve been eating here for my whole life. I’m 40 now. It may have changed a bit over the years but it’s still always fantastic. The spiced iced tea is my all time favorite and I can never get enough. Wonderful food and friendly staff. Definitely a great place to eat.

Great atmosphere and friendly staff. I got the Lorenzo. By far one of THE BEST dishes I’ve ever had! Jokingly I referred to it as a “Mexican salsbury steak” Everything at Christy Mae’s is absolutely delicious but this blew me away. Also, loved the deal that if you check-in on Facebook you get a free cup of soup.

If your traveling through, highly recommend you come to eat here. Chicken pot pie with banana nut bread is the best you will eat. Excellent! Smother chicken seasoned perfectly. We went out of our way to get here and will do it again.

Love to come here for lunch with friends or family, food is delicious! The atmosphere is relaxed I dont feel rushed and severs are always making sure customers need anything.
