This restaurant seems not only popular for the local residents, put patrons in several cities and counties away. I’m from southwest Detroit region, and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit at Christopher’s Cafe. The feeling I received walking into the place was that like Luke’s dinner (coffee shop) from the Gilmore Girls series on T.V. Truly there are such places with strong communities. As a Michigander, I hope you get the opportunity to visit there soon. Enjoy!

Stopped by for breakfast on the way back from Mackinac Island. Clean, pleasant atmosphere. Polite and friendly service and fabulous food! I ordered the Homemade Hash breakfast with Cinnamon Toast(pictured below) and coffee. Don’t miss Christopher’s Cafe, it’s a winner!

We found this great breakfast spot while driving through town the evening we arrived. Breakfast was excellent and service was exceptional. We shared the breakfast burrito and a side of hash browns before heading off to Macinac Island for the day. After spending the rest of the week in the UP we actually stopped back at Christopher’s on our way back to Pennsylvania. This restaurant is exceptionally clean and the servers are polite and professionally dressed. On our second visit we shared a different breakfast, and it did not disappoint.

everything was amazing! stopped here on our way to the UP on fourth of july morning. we were greeted & seated, ordered our food, & were back on the road in 20 minutes. everything was delicious. elk sausage from here is a MUST. our server & her partner were a pleasure to have talked to. will definitely make a stop next time we’re heading north!

Most reviews of this restaurant are quite positive, but in spite of this, I find myself surprisingly disappointed with my experience at Christopher’s Cafe. Maybe we arrived at a bad time, or we were simply unlucky. Either way, we did not have a good visit.
Firstly, the service was decent. There’s no point in blaming a waitress for the entirety of the problems we experienced. The tap water had a metallic flavor, and I’m certain that that is something that could easily be improved. This is something that I would overlook in most circumstances, so long as the food was enjoyable.
The food was not enjoyable.
My dish, a chicken wrap, was mediocre at best. That, and that alone, is not worth $13 dollars. Online, under the menu section of this restaurant, the chicken wrap is priced at $12. This is a minor discrepancy, but one I believe is worth mentioning. At the risk of sounding nitpicky or too critical, I’d also like to mention that overall, I find the menu rather underwhelming. It wouldn’t hurt to have a few more options.
It is because of the shortage of appealing options that my friend, who had accompanied me, ordered what many consider to be the safest possible option. A chicken tender basket, served with fries and a side of wiry short black hairs. This dish was thankfully removed from our bill, which we do appreciate. Regardless, that doesn’t make up for the experience.

So glad we stopped here on the way from mackinaw. Very warm and welcoming, and more than a standard american breakfast spot. The corned beef hash was the highlight of our meal. Everything was tasty, but the service made it worth the visit. Get anything homemade on the menu. This place is a definite pit stop when heading up north.

This restaurant is pretty great. My dad and I stopped there on our way to the UP and had some breakfast. We enjoyed the atmosphere, the staff was great, and the food was served much faster than anticipated. It all tasted delicious! I’ll certainly be making my way back here, again.

Locals and great reviews brought us to Christopher’s, and we’re so glad we ate there! Hostess Allena greeted us, and she was super friendly and personable. Waiter Josh was awesome, he was extremely polite and very attentive to our needs. We’ll be back the next time we’re in the area!!

I had the best experience eating here, from the time i walked in it was very welcoming, and it’s beautifully set up. The staff are very friendly , and they were always making sure my table had everything we needed . The food is phenomenal, it always tastes and looks so fresh. i highly recommend this place , weather if you are just coming in for lunch or breakfast, this place never disappoints me . I will definitely be coming back soon & recommending to my friends and family. This cafe is definitely one of my new favorite spots . 10/10

The breakfast food was delicious!!! Diner was clean! We had been seeking a great breakfast our entire trip, so we thought we would swing into Christopher’s Cafe on the last leg home! We had a large family (11 total) and they fit us in with very little wait time! Our waitress was amazing, and so were each of the individuals we chatted with from the restaurant! We had a lot of different dishes ordered and all family members said it was very good! Not a single complaint! Personable staff and great food! We would stop there again in a heartbeat!
