Visited for the live music, but also with an eye on the tenderloin. It didn’t disappoint. It was comically big, as expected, and cooked perfectly. The battered fries were very thick cut and crispy — not your typical battered fries. Great meal for a decent price. Took more than half of it home and reheated in the air fryer the next day — still decent!

Tried this for first time.
Wife and I ordered the famous tenderloin with curly fries. Also got burger and kraut and … I can’t explain what type fries they was. They was very crispy.

The tenderloin was big and great.
Thicker then I expected for being so big. The curly fries was ok. I’d suggest to try this monster if you haven’t. Yes you can order another top/bottom bun for extra $1.50 and share this with 3 people.

The burger and kraut was ok.
Just didn’t care for the fries.

Server kept the drinks full.
Always coming around even they was half packed.

I need to try few more items. I’ll be back!

The wife and I were in Overland Park Kansas at a doctor’s appointment, we got to talk and thought we would try Christine’s Firehouse out for a tenderloin. So we drove to the north and got there, and went inside and was greeted very quickly by the waitress. Told her we were here for that famous tenderloin. We were served in oh my gosh it was huge. It was also very good tasting. The breading was almost perfect not a lot but just enough and very crunchy, the meat inside of the crunchiness was moist and with good flavor. That one Tenderloin was enough for both of us. Also had an order of onion rings, pretty darn tasty 2.

Overall great experience. The staff make it a hit! Food was fun but dry. The beer battered fries were a 10!
I would suggest offering a white or brown gravy option for the HUGE tenderloin. They said live music but none was there after 9pm.

I stopped in to try the famous pork tenderloin sandwich and was not disappointed. Not only is this thing huge (I got three meals out of it), but it is thick, moist and delicious, especially when served with the beer-battered fries.

Christine’s itself is a great neighborhood hangout in NKC. The staff are friendly and efficient. There are daily specials and a large menu. I was pleased to find they had several local microbrews on tap (The Cinderblock IPA goes great with the tenderloin sandwich), and there are plenty of TVs offering sporting events. A great place to stop for lunch!

Christine’s Firehouse Bar & Grill is a hidden gem that delivers everything you’d want from a neighborhood bar—great food, friendly vibes, and a lively local crowd. Located at 2012 Independence Ave, this spot has a welcoming atmosphere from the moment you walk in. The signage promises live music on Thursdays and Sundays, and it absolutely delivers—expect a cozy, electric vibe filled with real musicians and appreciative locals.

Inside, you’ll find a classic, no-frills setup with neon lights, a Chiefs Kingdom sign for the loyal fans, and a view of the kitchen and bar that keeps everything feeling open and connected. The staff are quick to greet you with a smile and keep drinks flowing. Prices are more than fair, and the menu is packed with hearty, satisfying options. Their burgers and wings in particular are top-notch—perfectly cooked and generously portioned.

The live music elevates the experience, making Christine’s a great choice whether you’re just grabbing a drink or looking for a night out with friends. You get the sense that this place is a staple in the community, where regulars and newcomers are equally welcomed. If you enjoy authentic local flavor and down-to-earth good times, Christine’s Firehouse is a must-visit.

A fellow reviewer put this on my timeline as a must try. This place is a gem. We went on a Saturday night and they had live music and it was super good. So they are known for their tenderloin and it didn’t disappoint at all. The size you see in the pictures is not an exaggeration. It truly is as big as it looks. It was tender and really good. Even my kids loved the food. I know it was just breaded chicken tenders but they were hot, not hard and super tender. Sam our server was super nice. My wife got the BLT and we did friend mushrooms and pickles for the fresh, hot and amazing. We will be back for sure!
